Lauren Koslow Reveals Her Favorite Days Of Our Lives Stories

Fans of daytime television are well acquainted with Lauren Koslow. The actress has been a staple on "Days of Our Lives" for decades, and she's offered up some major drama in the process. However, Koslow is much more than a soap actress, per TV Guide.

During her long career, the soap star has landed roles on many different TV shows such as "Hard to Hold," "The New Mike Hammer," "Spies," "Silk Stalkings," "The Nanny," "Valley of the Dolls," "Criminal Minds," "Great News," and many more (via IMDb).

In addition to her role on "Days of Our Lives," Koslow is also known for working on other sudsers such as "The Bold and the Beautiful," where she played the character of Margo Lynley Spencer. The actress also previously portrayed Lindsey Wells Abbott on "The Young and the Restless" (via Soaps).

However, it is Koslow's portrayal of Kate Roberts on "Days of Our Lives" that she is best known for. Over the years, Kate has shown a range of personality traits and fans have loved them all.

Lauren Koslow debuted on Days of Our Lives in 1996

"Days of Our Lives" viewers know that Salem has no lack of strong women with a knack for stirring up drama. Fans have seen characters such as Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus), Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk, Eileen Davidson), and many others stir up trouble over the years, per TV Overmind. However, Kate Roberts can't be left off of that list. Lauren Koslow first appeared on the NBC soap opera in 1996 and the character of Kate quickly became a favorite among fans.

Over the years, viewers have watched Kate have romantic relationships with characters such as Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), John Black (Drake Hogestyn), Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo), Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), and many others. She's also attempted to kill multiple characters such as Victor, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), and has lied, schemed, cheated, and blackmailed others to get what she wants (via Soap Central).

Of course, Kate isn't always ruthless and rough. She also has a soft spot for those she loves such as her children, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson), Billie Reed (Lisa Rinna), Austin Reed (Austin Peck), and Gemini Twins Rex and Cassie Brady. She's also come to be a mother figure to Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) over the years, per Soaps in Depth.

In November 2021, Koslow celebrated her 25th anniversary as Kate and looked back on some of the most memorable moments for the character.

One of her favorite storylines involves co-star Joseph Mascolo

Over the past decades years Kate Roberts has seen a lot of drama on "Days of Our Lives," and Lauren Koslow wouldn't have it any other way, per Soap Central. The actress celebrated her milestone anniversary by revealing how much she's loved portraying the character over the years, and revealing some of her favorite storylines, such as Kate's years-long rivalry with her enemy Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel). "Both very, very powerful women and evenly matched. There were just some great stories. We had some catfights and physical battles. That was big on the show back then," Koslow told Soap Opera Digest.

Other favorite storylines include "working at Titan, where we all had offices," said Koslow, and her character's relationship with Stefano. "I had always wanted to work with Joe Mascolo and I was just over the moon about that," she revealed. "I really loved that. ... I guess overall, that's one of my favorite, favorite stories."

The actress also admitted that while she loves that Kate is a strong woman, there have been some times when the character took things a bit too far. Koslow revealed that one of the worst things Kate has ever done was to poison Chloe Lane. "It was so much fun to do it but she really lost touch with herself and reality at that point. So I think that was her darkest time," the actress confessed.

However, through it all, Koslow says that she simply feels grateful to work on "Days of Our Lives" after all these years. "It really has been wonderful. It's been an extraordinary gift. I feel very grateful to have had a character like Kate. It really is amazing that I can still laugh and get excited about her story and her," she shared.
