Unaired Clip Shows How The Plaths Felt About Ethan Being In The Family Home For The First Time In Years
The stars of TLC's hit reality show "Welcome to Plathville" have had much of their family's drama unfold in front of cameras for the world to see. A central plot point throughout the series is trouble between the eldest son, Ethan Plath, and his wife, Olivia Plath's marriage, per Us Weekly. The couple hasn't had the easiest go at marriage, as Kim Plath, Ethan's mother, has been strongly against the pair and the choices they have made outside of the strict religion they were raised in.
However, things hit the fan when Kim and Barry Plath announced that they would be divorcing. The news came just as the drama between the couple and their children who have chosen to leave the religion they were raised in, heats up on the show's 4th season, per Distractify. This announcement led to her son, Ethan, throwing shade at his mom. An unaired segment from "Welcome to Plathville" has been released, showing fans how much the family dynamic is struggling amidst all the changes.
The Plath family had interesting feelings about Ethan returning to the family home
Kim and Barry Plath, the parents of the Plath brood on "Welcome to Plathville," have been the cause of a lot of strain between their son, Ethan, and his wife Olivia, per Us Weekly.
Ethan told the publication, "I would say definitely the stuff we had to sort through with my family really put a strain on our marriage," which his wife agreed with.
As a result, Ethan and Olivia distanced themselves from Kim and Barry, moving away to Tampa, Florida for some physical space. In an unseen clip from "Welcome to Plathville," the family is surprised to see Ethan come for a visit to the family's home.
In a video posted by TLC on Twitter, daughter Lydia shared, "I'm so shocked. Like Ethan actually coming here to our house and not just come on the property, but coming in and spending time with all of us." Barry added, "He had one reservation, you know what that is right? He's still hung up on your mother. So she has graciously said that she is just going to be out doing things for a while. So that's where we're at."
Amber, another one of the Plath kids, said, "I haven't seen Ethan in a long time, since he moved to Tampa, so I'm really excited that he's coming over. I'm hoping that his visit today will bring a change in my dad and Ethan's relationship."
