Queen Elizabeth Appears Cheery As She Steps Out With Princess Anne

Royal fans can take a deep sigh of relief, because Queen Elizabeth, whose health has been in question in recent months, has shown she is up to the task of being monarch in photos taken during a new outing with her daughter.

Indeed, that the Queen has missed several high-profile events due to concerns about her mobility has led some to wonder if the royal family and Her Majesty's aides are hiding something about just how much she is declining. Last month, side-by-side images of the monarch raised eyebrows due to how different she looks this year as compared to the same time last year. To be fair, Queen Elizabeth is 96 years old, lost her husband Prince Philip in April of 2021 and also suffered from a bout of COVID-19 that she admitted left her feeling "exhausted" (via Vanity Fair).

Nevertheless, that the royal did not attend many of the festivities marking her Platinum Jubilee was likely sad to see for her admirers (via Page Six). The good news is that the Queen was looking spry and cheerful as she made an important visit Friday with Princess Anne by her side.

Queen Elizabeth has long supported the hospice

Queen Elizabeth stepped out for a meaningful reason on July 15, 2022, the Princess Royal in tow. To mark the opening of a new medical building that supports the care of very sick patients, the monarch showed she is still very capable of getting around on her own.

Royal expert Omid Scobie shared an image of HRH via Twitter that revealed the Queen smiling and looking pretty and polished in a blue floral dress and pearls (naturally).

Thames Hospice also tweeted about the visit, noting they were "thrilled to welcome Her Majesty The Queen, accompanied by HRH The Princess Royal" as they opened their new location. The account also shared, "The Queen first opened Thames Hospice on 9 November 1987 and today's historic occasion marks her fourth visit to us."

The post was accompanied by another image of the Queen which saw her grinning broadly and seemingly in great spirits.

Queen Elizabeth and Princess Anne don't step out in public together often

Royal reporter Rebecca English shared a tweet about the Queen and Princess Anne's appearance on Friday at the hospice care facility as well, including video footage of the 96-year-old walking from her car to the building and revealing her mobility to be rather impressive.

Although the Daily Mail correspondent noted the monarch was "walking carefully with the use of her stick," it's clear to fans that the royal is in very "good form" given her advanced age.

Meanwhile, it seems that this occasion, which English joked obviously featured a plaque unveiling, marked a rare public outing that both the Queen and her daughter attended together, according to Harper's Bazaar. The outlet also noted that the hospice visit is actually the second time this week the monarch has proved to naysayers that she is still a very active head of the royal family, having stepped out on Tuesday for an award ceremony.

Incidentally, the Queen also traveled to Scotland late last month and wowed fans with her meaningful choice of ensemble.
