"The Bold and the Beautiful" player Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) is someone who seems like his heart is in the right place, even though often times it appears like it's also been split into two. For years, he's gone back and forth between the two main women in his life — Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). And as luck would have it, he's also been trying to find balance in it all despite the fact that he has two separate families with both Steffy and Hope. Even Liam's portrayer, Scott Clifton, knows that his character's "romantic waffling" has gotten tiresome, if not also a bit annoying.
Clifton told Soap Opera Digest in an interview back in 2020, "Of all the wafflers, I win — I am the waffle king! Okay, first let me say, I don't get Liam. I try really, really hard, but I don't get Liam, and that is the struggle of my job. I mean, he's an idealist, I'm a pragmatist. He's naive and his thinking is flowery and I'm the opposite of that. I've been with the same woman for 15 years and he can't stay with the same woman for a week."
That said, "The Bold and the Beautiful" fans certainly have a lot of opinions about Liam and needless to say, they are in line with what Clifton thinks about his character, too.

While it might seem like Liam Spencer is stuck in the middle between Steffy Forrester and Hope Logan, there are some "The Bold and the Beautiful" fans that don't think it's all his fault. Both Steffy and Hope have long fought for the handsome Spencer son, even when it seemed like he was committed and settled down with the other woman in his life. Plus, it's not like both Steffy and Hope are totally innocent in this three-way game that they've been playing for years. Steffy fell in love and evidently slept with her father-in-law, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), per Soaps in Depth, while Hope has been pining for Liam on her own for years, too.
Many fans have taken to social media to write comments such as, "I know all about the waffling ways of Liam Spencer. And while no one knows when the waffling will ever end between Liam, Steffy, and Hope, at least one thing is for certain: even with all of the shifting he does, Liam certainly hasn't lost his sweetness.
