Days Of Our Lives Relationship Timeline: Brady And Theresa

"Days of Our Lives" has given fans so many great couples over the years — in particular, fan-favorite super couples Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) and Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso), John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), all four of whom make an appearance in the "Days of Our Lives" spinoff "Beyond Salem," per Deadline

Of course, fans have also seen some couples form who just seemed mismatched and wrong for each other like Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), as well as Victor and Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers). Other couples like Sami and Austin Reed (Austin Peck), and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) also seemed awkward and strange together at times (via Fame 10).

However, one of the most volatile and entertaining couples fans have followed in "Days of Our Lives" history has been the relationship between Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa Donovan (Jen Lilley).

Theresa and Brady first bonded over their love for partying

Theresa Donovan and Brady Black are both "Days of Our Lives" legacy characters. Brady is the son of John Black and the late Isabella Toscano, who had one of the most heartbreaking deaths in the soap's history. Meanwhile, Theresa is the daughter of super couple Kimberly Brady and Shane Donovan. In 2013, Theresa returned to Salem after a long absence and was aged into a young adult with actress Jen Lilley in the role. Of course, she immediately began to stir up trouble in town with her bad behavior and her drug and alcohol abuse issues, per Soaps in Depth.

After a drug overdose nearly took her life, her family urged Theresa to get help (via Soap Hub). She began attending Narcotics Anonymous meetings where she met Brady. The two initially had conflicting personalities, but their relationship turned into a flirtation, according to Soap Central. Because neither Brady nor Theresa was serious about their sobriety they began to secretly drink together. Theresa loved Brady's lavish and rich lifestyle. However, the pair's binges eventually stopped and Theresa set her sights on Dr. Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian).

When Theresa's advances toward Daniel were rejected, she put her focus back on Brady. Their relationship upset many. However, Theresa began to have real feelings for Brady. By this point, Brady had become more dedicated to getting sober and told Theresa that he needed to break up with her to stay on the wagon.

Brady and Theresa got married in Las Vegas

Over time, "Days of Our Lives" viewers watched as Brady Black and Theresa Donovan continued to grow close. The relationship was toxic for both of them and they began to drink heavily and even use drugs such as cocaine together. Brady told Theresa that he loved her and wanted more from their relationship (via Soap Central). Theresa happily agreed as she wanted to get her hands on Brady's fortune. The two then decided to jet off to Las Vegas, where Brady got drunk and the two got married, per Celeb Dirty Laundry. The two later returned to Salem and John Black was furious that his son had tied the knot with the troublemaking Theresa.

John and Theresa got into a heated discussion about her actions, and she told John that she would leave Brady and annul the marriage for $1 million. John then revealed that he recorded their conversation and would show Brady, which would end the marriage. Theresa panicked and grabbed a fire poker. She hit John over the head and sent him into a coma. She then framed Brady for the attack, per Soap Hub.

Brady was devasted when he heard that he had hurt his father. He told Theresa that he wanted to annul their marriage so that he could focus on his sobriety, and returned to his NA meetings for help.

Kristen caused a lot of problems for Theresa and Brady

Eventually, John Black woke up from his coma to the relief of "Days of Our Lives" viewers. John remembered everything about his altercation with Theresa Donovan but decided to keep quiet about it when he learned that Brady's ex-girlfriend Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was in town. John told Theresa that he wanted her to distract Brady from Kristen's advances, but warned her not to hurt Brady otherwise he would spill the beans about his attack. However, Kristen had other ideas. She recorded Theresa telling a friend that she was the person who hit John with the fire poker and later played it for Brady, per Soap Central.

Brady was furious after finding out the truth about his father's attack, but Theresa tried her best to get him to understand. Brady didn't want to listen to anything she had to say, so Theresa didn't get the chance to tell Brady that she was pregnant with his child (via Daytime Confidential). Kristen found out about the pregnancy and had Theresa kidnapped so that her doctors could transfer her embryo into Kristen's body (via Soaps in Depth).

Kristen then left Salem pregnant with Brady and Theresa's baby. Theresa was drugged to forget about the procedure, and Brady moved on to a relationship with Melanie Jonas.

Brady and Theresa finally found their son

"Days of Our Lives" fans watched the drama between Theresa Donovan and Brady Black intensify when Melanie Jonas grew suspicious of Theresa's pregnancy story. Melanie worked with Nicole Walker to get answers and eventually figured out that Theresa may have been pregnant and had her embryo stolen by Kristen DiMera, per Soap Central.

Theresa, Brady, and Melanie all eventually made their way to Europe, where Kristen had been living with the newborn child, a son she had named Christopher (via Soap Opera Spy). Theresa and Brady reunited with their baby and renamed him Tate.

Brady and Theresa came home to Salem and cleaned up their act for their son. They fell hard for each other again and were living happily as a family. The pair even got engaged. Sadly, they never got to have their wedding day due to chaos in town. Later, Theresa's father, Shane Donovan told his daughter that her former boyfriend, a drug lord named Mateo, had tracked her down and that she and Tate were in danger. Theresa decided to leave Salem to keep her family safe. She agreed to work with Shane to bust Mateo and pushed Brady away so that he wouldn't come looking for her (via Soaps in Depth).

Two years later, Mateo kidnapped Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), and she was shocked to see Theresa in Mexico. The two women eventually made it home alive and well, and Theresa was thrilled to reunite with her son again.

Theresa returned home to find Brady engaged to her sister

When Theresa Donovan made her way back to Salem she expected to jump back into family life with Brady Black and their son Tate. However, that wasn't the case. Theresa came home to find that Brady had started up a romance with her older sister, Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva), per Monsters and Critics. The two had even gotten engaged while she was away.

Theresa was devastated and to make matters worse she was forced to fight Brady and Eve for custody of her young son (via Soaps). Theresa's old friend, JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) was there for her during the difficult time. He helped her through it all and Theresa was eventually given full custody of little Tate.

After the custody hearing, cooler heads prevailed and Theresa and Brady agreed to share custody of their son. Soon after, Theresa learned that her mother's cancer had returned and decided to leave Salem to move home to California so that she could help take care of her mom, according to Soaps in Depth. Theresa took Tate to California with her, and Brady was forced to say an emotional goodbye to his child.

Although Brady has had many romantic relationships over the years, "Days of Our Lives" viewers have enjoyed his time with Theresa. While the pair aren't together now, there's always hope that they'll find their way back to each other in the future.
