Proof That Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is A Feminist

This summer has brought us plenty of heat along with some very heated discussions. One of the most controversial topics has been the controversy of Roe v. Wade.

The decision by the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade has been the hot topic since an anonymous source leaked a draft by Justice Samuel Alito to Politico in May. On June 24, it was official; the Supreme Court's decision deemed the legality of abortion to be a state issue and did away with nearly 50 years of legal precedent established by the landmark case (via CNBC.)

While the issue of abortion has long been a battleground with pro-abortion and anti-abortion advocates facing off on opposing sides, the leaked document proved to be the spark that lit the fuse. When the decision did happen, feminists and pro-abortion activists alike took to all forms of social media to denounce it. Many celebrities have shared their abortion stories to shine a light on the necessity of abortion rights. For example, Halsey wrote an essay for Vogue. She's not alone, either.

For actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the issue of abortion access also hits close to home.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared a 'pro Roe' tweet

When he's not smashing heads and cracking jokes as Negan on AMC's "The Walking Dead," Jeffrey Dean Morgan is raising his voice in support of Roe v. Wade. The self-described "Pro Roe" actor may sometimes play cruel characters onscreen, but separate fiction from reality and you'll see that he is passionate about the current battle being waged around abortion rights. In one single fiery tweet, Jeffrey Dean Morgan made his position on the subject clear as day.

"I got OPINIONS. You don't like 'em? P*** off," the tweet began. It was accompanied by a selfie of Morgan wearing a gray shirt that reads in bold letters "Pro Roe 1973." In no uncertain terms, the "Grey's Anatomy" alum let the world know that he is a supporter of a woman's right to choose.

Morgan wasn't in the mood to deal with rude replies or haters, either. "I'm in a block n delete kinda mood today," his tweet continued.

His wife Hilarie Burton is also pro-abortion

"Read my wife's last instagram post... and tell me I have no skin in the game," Jeffrey Dean Morgan told his followers in his "Pro Roe" tweet. He is of course talking about his longtime wife Hilarie Burton. The actress recently took to Instagram to share her own heartbreaking abortion story.

Burton shared a picture of the couple's adorable daughter alongside a caption. "I only have my daughter because of my abortion," she wrote. The "One Tree Hill" star explained how her infertility issues led to a painful miscarriage. Because of her miscarriage, Burton had to have what was labeled an abortion. "You know what would have made that painful day even worse," she asked. "If abortion had been illegal, and law enforcement inspected my body to make sure I hadn't caused my own miscarriage." Burton has opened up about her infertility issues in her memoir "The Rural Diaries," according to People.

Morgan made it clear that he supports his wife and other women. In a reply tweet to a supporter, he explained that the abortion issue is not about how he feels but about women's rights.
