The Young And The Restless Star Susan Walters Shares Heartwarming Family News

Actors Susan Walters and Linden Ashby are one of daytime television's most successful real life couples. The pair met on the set of "Loving" in 1986, where they portrayed cousins Lorna Forbes and Curtis Alden, and immediately fell in love. They got married within three months of meeting each other and have been together for 36 years (via News4JAX).

"Loving" was the very first acting gig for both Walters and Ashby and they have both gone on to have very successful and prolific careers in Hollywood. They often star alongside each other, having shared the screen on shows such as "Spy Game," "Melrose Place," "The War Next Door," "Teen Wolf," and others. In addition to their respective roles on popular primetime shows, both actors have also periodically returned to soaps.

Following his time on "Loving," Ashby went on to play Cameron Kirsten on "The Young and the Restless" from 2003 to 2004 and also had a short stint on "Days of Our Lives" in March 2008. Walters is best known for her work as the iconic Diane Jenkins on "The Young and the Restless," which she played from 2001 to 2004, and again in 2010. Recently, Walters reprised the role in 2022 when Diane reappeared after being presumed dead for over a decade.

In addition to their decades of screen time, Walters and Ashby also raised a family together. Their first daughter Grace was born in 1991 and their second, Savannah, followed a year later. In late August 2022, Walters shared that their family had grown even more (via Soaps).

Susan Walters and Linden Ashby are brand-new grandparents

On August 21, Susan Walters took to Instagram to introduce her and husband Linden Ashby's first grandchild. She shared a sweet photo of herself holding the newborn, which she captioned "Nora and Grandma." She also posted a second picture of grandpa Ashby with the little one, writing "My heart is full." Several of Jenkins "Young and the Restless" costars shared their congratulations on the post, including Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren), Christen Le Blanc (Michael), and Melissa Ordway (Abby), among others.

Walters gushed to CheatSheet back in April that her daughter Grace was going to be a first-time mom and shared how excited their family was to be welcoming a new member. She also shared photos from the baby shower on social media, saying "Who is the luckiest grandma-to-be in the world? That would be me!" (via Soaps).

Looking at the photo evidence, Walters and Ashby seem thrilled to be starting this new chapter of their lives as grandparents and we wish them and their family nothing but the best. Hopefully there are more pictures of baby Nora coming soon!
