Her career in writing began during The Great Recession and took her to Harvard University where she developed multimillion-dollar gift proposals by day and wrote poems by night (and weekends). Since then, Chelsea has written a wide variety of materials, from solicitations and marketing copy to event scripts and grant reporting. Chelsea volunteers in her community as a writing workshop facilitator and recently taught a section on Ansel Adams and ekphrastic writing. In January 2022, Chelsea was awarded a fellowship for emerging writers by Fishtrap, a nonprofit agency based in the Eaglecap Wilderness.

Chelsea earned her MFA in poetry from UNC-Greensboro and has a bachelor's degree in creative writing with a minor in modern dance. She also holds certifications in yoga and nonprofit arts and culture strategy.
