  • Pearl is a freelance features writer for The List.
  • She has written articles for a handful of publications and media outlets, and her work has covered a diverse variety of topics (including how the Covid-19 pandemic impacted abortion access, what specific sexual side effects SSRI users may encounter, and the difficulties that a younger generation faces in balancing digital activism with self-care).
  • While studying at Syracuse University, Pearl was the editor-in-chief of Jerk Magazine, Syracuse's premier student-run publication. As EIC, she published four physical issues a year and oversaw the creation of much more digital and social content.

Experience

Since she was young, Pearl has had a passion for writing, which led her to study Magazine, News, and Digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University — one of the best journalism programs in the country. While studying journalism, she wrote for a number of print and digital publications — notably, she's contributed to PopSugar, Times Union: Hudson Valley, and Music Mecca. Along with this, Pearl wrote and designed an entire wellness-focused zine for her thesis project. She recently graduated from Syracuse University with honors and is now working as a freelancer for The List's features team. When she's not writing, Pearl can probably be found with her nose in a book or watching reality TV shows.

Education

Pearl graduated summa cum laude with honors from the Magazine, News, and Digital Journalism program at Syracuse University in 2022. While studying there, she learned how to effectively report, write, and edit different kinds of articles.
