Royal Expert Absolutely Slams Comparisons Between Meghan Markle And Princess Diana

The new Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" has certainly stirred up a lot of feelings, not just among royals but viewers as well. It seems that there are two staunch camps for those who admire and support Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and those who even refuse to watch because they feel the defectors shouldn't be airing their dirty laundry.

One of the more emotional parts of the series revolves around Harry's belief that his mom, Princess Diana, and Meghan have shared similar experiences when it comes to mistreatment by the British media. In fact, it's the main reason that the couple stepped back from the royal family as working senior members and moved to the US, per the BBC. Harry said he was afraid that history would repeat itself and felt responsible for keeping Meghan safe.

Now, a royal expert is claiming that there is no comparison between Meghan's experience and what Diana endured.

Princess Diana had it worse, says royal expert

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield blasted any comparison between Meghan Markle and Princess Diana, claiming that the two have vastly different characters, according to Express. "No matter how hard Meghan pursues comparisons to Diana, the people that knew and loved Diana would say there is no comparison," she said.

She also claimed that, while she does admit that some of the media have been cruel to the Duchess of Sussex, it's not on the level that Diana experienced. "Are dozens of people jumping out of bushes or waiting outside of the gym for a shot of Meghan Markle? No. Diana had it 1,000x worse than Meghan ever will," maintains Schofield.

Clearly, Prince Harry sees things differently. "My mother was chased to her death while she was in a relationship with someone that wasn't white and now look what's happened," said the Duke of Sussex (via People). "You want to talk about history repeating itself, they're not going to stop until [Meghan] dies."
