Selena Gomez knows a thing or two about skincare. She didn't establish Rare Beauty just because, after all.

In an interview with Vogue prior to her beauty brand's launch, she shared her belief that beauty comes from within. "When you're taking care of your skin, you're taking care of your body, and your mind, and soul — I think it's all connected," the singer-actor told the outlet. And over the years, she has grown to recognize the importance of beauty in one's journey to self-love. "Being in different facets of the industry, it's been really fun to play with [beauty] because it makes a character when you're on set, it creates something magical," she added. "I was heavily involved in the entire process because I also care so much about mental health and I believe it's a part of your self-esteem, it's a part of the way you see yourself."

But the difference between the "Calm Down" singer and other celebrities in the beauty space is that she isn't a snob when it comes to brands. In fact, Gomez's skincare routine involves a lot of affordable products, save for one specific item.

Selena Gomez doesn't skimp on eye cream

As it turns out, Selena Gomez is a sucker for drugstore products just like many of us. In May 2022, the "Only Murders in the Building" star took to TikTok to share a wallet-friendly routine that she described as "super affordable" as well as effective.

For starters, she applied the Urban Hydration Gel Facial Mask across her face and then proceeded to put on another gel-like product, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cleanser. Once it was absorbed by her skin, Gomez applied Pureté Thermale Toner from Vichy across her chin, followed by the Caudalie Resveratrol-Lift Firming Eye Gel Cream on her under-eye area. She finished the routine off by applying a few drops of Neutrogena's Bright Boost Illuminating Serum across her face and neck. She wasn't lying when she said that all these products can be found at your local CVS, but you may find that the eye cream costs more than your average drugstore find.

The Caudalie eye cream, which retails for $62, may just be worth the splurge, though. The brand notes that it has de-puffing and firming benefits thanks to its Resveratrol content. According to Healthline, resveratrol is an antioxidant known for helping reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and improving the skin's elasticity. It's also made mostly out of natural ingredients, which is always a plus.

Selena Gomez uses luxury products, too

The Caudalie eye cream isn't the only high-end product that Selena Gomez patronizes, apparently. Speaking with Vogue, she dished that she is a big fan of Tatcha's Dewy Skin Moisturizer because it's so "thick and yummy" and that a little goes a long way. To protect her skin from the sun, she loves using Drunk Elephant's Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF 30 sunscreen. "I like to put sunscreen on, not only because it's important to keeping your skin looking fresh, but I have Lupus, so being in the sun is kind of difficult for me," she detailed.

In yet another TikTok, Gomez also shared a bunch of other luxe skin care products she uses in what appears to be her nighttime routine. She loves spritzing the Evian Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray all over and cleansing with the La Mer The Cleansing Foam. For serums, she dabs the Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Age-Defying Intense Serum on her cheeks and the Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Eye Serum in the undereye area. She's not immune to the magic of the cult-favorite La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream, too, as she also applies it to her decolletage. As finishing touches, she puts on Peter Thomas Roth's 24K Gold Hydra-Gel Eye Patches for a few minutes and moisturizes her lips with the eos Lip Balm. The total cost of these products? Just a little over $550.
