Who Is Good Bones' Mina Starsiak's Husband?

Mina Starsiak is busier than ever. In 2019 alone, fans will see the HGTV star in the fourth season of her hit HGTV show Good Bones, catch her rocking it on a new show called Rock the Block, and watch her renovate the Brady Bunch home in A Very Brady Renovation. If that's not enough, Starsiak also welcomed her first child, Jack, in August 2018, and in September 2019 opened up about infertility and her struggle to conceive baby number two. No matter how crazy life gets for the home renovation expert, however, the one constant in her life is husband Steve Hawk.

According to House Beautiful, the happy couple like to keep their relationship mostly private. It's difficult even to parse when Starsiak and Hawk actually met, but we do know they connected on Facebook in 2013 after the Good Bones star noticed him in her mutual friends.

Did Mina Starsiak know Steve Hawk was the one?

As Starsiak told Country Living, however, their first date was a disaster. "He ignored me all night," she admitted, adding that Hawk also, "Let his friend hit on me!" Thankfully, the reality star gave him another chance the following night. She knew early on he was the one, explaining, "He's much more sentimental than I am. I'll just go, go, go, with my head in the sand till I don't know when." Hawk helps to keep her grounded, she says.

It wasn't all smooth sailing; Starsiak and her mother, Karen Laine, hinted at a difficult period during the start of the couple's relationship when the new pair split up due to Hawk's unspecified bad behavior. Thankfully, they made it work, with Hawk even getting involved in Two Chicks and a Hammer, Starsiak's home renovation business with Laine, which was up and running by the time he rolled around.

When did Good Bones star Mina get married?

HGTV came knocking in 2014 and, just two months before the Good Bones pilot episode was filmed, Hawk proposed to Starsiak. It was an elaborate affair, with the reality star sent on a scavenger hunt before Hawk got down on one knee at the Indianapolis Colts' training field. They got married on June 11, 2016, celebrating with 400 donuts in place of a wedding cake at the Indianapolis 1899 building. Jack followed in August 2018, with Starsiak back at work just a week later and Hawk on hand to take over baby duties during filming.

With an expanding repertoire of HGTV shows, and an expanding brood, to boot, it doesn't look like the Starsiak-Hawk family is planning on slowing down any time soon.
