RHOBH's Erika Jayne Is Heading To Broadway For This Huge Role

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Girardi, aka Erika Jayne, is heading to Broadway where she'll tread the boards as a cast-member in the revival of the legendary musical Chicago. Aside from appearing on the hit Bravo show since season 6, Girardi has a lucrative side gig as singer and performer Erika Jayne, racking up nine number one singles on the U.S. Billboard dance chart.

Her flamboyant alter ego is sure to come in handy on the Great White Way, where Girardi will follow in the footsteps of her castmate Lisa Rinna who, funnily enough, played the same role back in 2007.

Who is Erika Jayne playing in Chicago?

People reports Girardi will be making her Broadway debut as the murderous housewife and wannabe starlet Roxie Hart, the role played by Renée Zellweger in the Oscar-winning movie adaptation. Girardi will appear in a 12-week stint in 2020 from January 6 until March 29.

The Real Housewives star is ecstatic about her new role. "I'm beyond excited to join the cast of the legendary musical Chicago. ...It is an honor and a dream to play Roxie Hart," she gushed in a statement.

Chicago is the longest-running American musical in Broadway history and boasts several of the most beloved songs in musical theater, including "All That Jazz," "The Cell-Block Tango," and Girardi's big standout number, "Roxie." She follows in the footsteps of Rinna, as well as Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kandi Burrus and NeNe Leakes, both of whom played Matron Mama Morton (portrayed by Queen Latifah in the film).

Will Erika Jayne's Chicago run feature on RHOBH?

Fan favorite Girardi is returning to RHOBH for season 10, which is filming at the moment for an expected 2020 release. An insider told Page Six the reality star is set to move to New York in December to start rehearsals, advising the cameras would be following her for "some of it."

The insider also confirmed that "talks started beginning earlier this year" for Girardi to appear in the hit musical, once she had healed from her knee surgery. Real Housewives of New York star Luann DeLesseps infamously announced she'd be appearing in Chicago only to be forced to backtrack when producers advised nothing had been confirmed as of yet.
