Here's The Mom Hack OutDaughtered's Danielle Busby Uses When Her Kids Are Sick
Having one sick kid is bad. Having two sick kids is worse. Having six sick kids? Most of us can't even begin to comprehend what that would entail, but for OutDaughtered's Danielle Busby, it can easily be her reality each time one of her brood picks up a cold or a stomach bug. As parents of sick kids know, when one kid gets sick, it's usually only a matter of time until it spreads like wildfire to each sibling.
Whether you only have a couple of sick kiddos, or a half dozen like Busby, it can be hard to keep track of who's had what medicine and when. But the OutDaughtered matriarch shared a #momhack that she says is a game-changer when it comes to making sure everyone gets their necessary doses.
How to use Danielle Busby's smart medicine hack
Busby took to Instagram to share how she keeps the kids' medication straight in her hectic household, saying, "When you have 6 kids, I'll be honest... l just cant remember everything! After last week of rotating sick kiddos, I saw this #momhack and had to share because its genius!!" The accompanying photo shows the side of the bottle marked with a simple grid for morning and nighttime doses, so whoever doles it out can easily mark it off with a Sharpie. No missed doses, and more importantly, no chance of multiple doses.
Adam and Danielle Busby are no strangers to administering medication to their kids — the quints (Riley, Parker, Ava, Olivia, and Hazel) all suffered from acid reflux as babies. At that time, Danielle relied on a much more complicated spreadsheet to ensure each quint was getting their doses. We're betting things are a little easier in the Busby household now that five babies don't need daily acid reflux meds six(!) times a day.
