The Sad Reason Amy Roloff Is Missing The Rest Of Pumpkin Season

Any Little People, Big World fan worth their salt knows that pumpkin season on Roloff Farms is a big deal. Every October, according to the Roloff Farms website, the farm is open to the public for pumpkin patch season. The farm's pumpkin patch is near and dear to Amy Roloff's heart, as we can see from the many pictures of it she has posted over the years. This year, however, she's going to have to miss out on the rest of pumpkin season for a devastating reason.

Little People, Big World fans may recall that Roloff's mother passed away in September, just days after Roloff became engaged to her boyfriend, Chris Marek. Now, Roloff is traveling to her parents' home in Michigan to attend a memorial service for her late mother, and will be gone for the rest of the month.

Amy Roloff paid tribute to her mom in a touching Instagram post

"Everyone enjoy pumpkin season at Roloff farms today and next weekend," Roloff wrote in an Instagram post on October 20. "I'm sad I won't be there to meet some of you. Today I'm heading to Michigan for my Mom's memorial on Thursday and to say goodbye to her. And grateful to be with my Dad for a little bit afterwards.

Roloff opened up about how hard things have been since losing her beloved mother. "I'm torn with my emotions," she wrote. "I miss her so much and at the same time happy she's not in pain anymore and with the Lord. I'll miss Chris while I'm gone but so glad he'll be coming out to be with me for the service and My kids too. It's a kind of mixed emotions for my heart kind of day. I'm sad and yet I know I'm blessed in many ways and I'm so thankful for life and moments."

Roloff ended the post with some words of wisdom: "Remember to be kind and let others know you love them every day. Life is but a moment and let's collect as many as we can while doing our best to live life."

Could this be Amy Roloff's last pumpkin season?

The day before Roloff announced that she'd be absent from the rest of pumpkin season, she wrote in another Instagram post that she "wasn't really a part of pumpkin season this year" for "various reasons."

"I truly missed meeting so many of you and dressing up," wrote Roloff. "Enjoy this amazing time of year — Fall."

While she didn't say what those other reasons were in the post, it's likely that Roloff has spent the past month grieving the loss of her mother, and possibly planning her upcoming wedding to Chris Marek. She might also be distancing herself from pumpkin season for another reason. The star previously revealed that she is looking for a new house and plans to move off the family farm soon. Amy Roloff might not be on Roloff Farms at all for pumpkin season next year, so it's possible that she's slowly transitioning away from her pumpkin season responsibilities.

Amy Roloff hinted at some drama on the farm

In the comments of the Instagram post (via In Touch Weekly), Roloff hinted that there might be some tension on the family farm. Someone asked why she was backing away from pumpkin season, and Roloff answered, "Just a lot going on and changes and choosing not to be involved in a confrontation."

In another comment, Roloff said, "Just not as much this year. It's changed for me now and because I choose not to be a part of a confrontation that could have impacted others from an ultimatum that was said to me if followed through."

Roloff didn't elaborate, but it's possible that the potential confrontation involves her ex-husband Matt's girlfriend, Caryn Chandler. On October 18, Matt posted a photo on Instagram with Chandler, and revealed that she was helping with pumpkin season this year.
