The Truth About Tinsley Mortimer's Engagement Ring

Real Housewives of New York star Tinsley Mortimer kicked off the holiday season by getting engaged to Coupon Cabin CEO Scott Kluth on November 24. "I always knew it was you!!" Mortimer captioned an Instagram photo of Kluth getting down on one knee. According to E! News, the engagement came soon after the on-again, off-again couple announced that they were officially back together.

"Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue. And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true," wrote Mortimer in an Instagram post on October 21, revealing that she was in Chicago with Scott.

Mortimer later confirmed the reunion at BravoCon on November 15. "Scott and I did get back together," she said (via Us Weekly)."I'm more excited than anybody!"

How much is Tinsley Mortimer's engagement ring worth?

Mortimer waited a few days after her engagement before giving fans a glimpse at the stunning rock her future husband popped the question with. In a Thanksgiving post on Instagram of Mortimer kissing Kluth, we finally saw the gorgeous sparkler for the first time.

James Schultz, co-founder of jewelry retailer James Allen, recently told E! News that Mortimer's bling cost a pretty penny and is definitely the sort of high-priced item you'd expect to grace the fourth finger of a Real Housewife. Schultz estimated that the ring is worth somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000. "It looks about 5.5-7 carats," he said. "It appears to be a rose gold solitaire set with an elongated oval diamond."

Celebrity jeweler Jack Solow thinks that the ring, which "complements Tinsley's long, elegant fingers," is a bit flashier. "To my eye, the diamond looks to be a beautifully shaped oval in the 8 to 10 carat range," he said.

However much the ring is worth, it's clear that Mortimer is loving being engaged. "Sooo much to be THANKFUL for!!!" she captioned the picture of her and her soon-to-be hubby which showed off her dazzling ring.

Mortimer posted a video of the engagement on Instagram on December 1, gushing about her fiance. "One week ago today I got engaged to the LOVE of my life!" she wrote. "Thank you sooo much for all your excitement for us! Every time I watch this it makes me cry."

How did Tinsley Mortimer and Scott Kluth meet?

Mortimer and Kluth have been together since 2017. They were introduced during season 9 of Real Housewives of New York by Mortimer's fellow Real Housewife, Carole Radziwell (via The Daily Dish). A strain was put on their relationship because of the distance between them — Mortimer lives in New York, while Kluth lives in Chicago. "It's so hard to be in a relationship, particularly when we don't live in the same town," Mortimer said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2018.

She added, "We break up all the time."

In spite of the distance, it seems that Mortimer and Kluth simply could not stay apart and are determined to overcome their obstacles in order to be with each other for the rest of their lives.

Is Tinsley Mortimer leaving Real Housewives of New York?

What does Mortimer's engagement mean for her future on The Real Housewives of New York? Even before the engagement, there were rumors that Mortimer would be leaving the show. At the beginning of November, Page Six reported that Mortimer had recently missed filming for season 12 of the show in order to spend time with Kluth. The outlet reported that castmates were convinced Mortimer would be leaving the show, but sources insisted that she will still be involved in the show's upcoming season.

The outlet also revealed that the Real Housewives thought an engagement was imminent, saying that Kluth had already bought Mortimer a ring.

Is Tinsley Mortimer moving to Chicago?

It seems that the rumors of an upcoming engagement were accurate, but for now Mortimer's future on Real Housewives of New York is uncertain. In November, Us Weekly reported that a source claimed Mortimer eventually plans to move to Chicago with Kluth, "finally getting her happy ending."

The source said that Mortimer plans to leave New York after season 12 of The Real Housewives of New York wraps. "She is moving for love," said another source, who claimed to be close to Mortimer. "This is a very happy time in her life right now and everyone is rooting for her and Scott. They have addressed all their issues and no longer want to live without each other. She is very, very happy!"

While Chicago doesn't yet have a Real Housewives franchise, perhaps Mortimer will one day become a cast member of a brand new Real Housewives of Chicago. For now, though, she seems content to bask in the happiness of her engagement.
