Kristi & Bryon Noem's Scandals Cast Tragic Shadow Over Daughter Kassidy's Picture-Perfect Life
Kristi Noem seemingly hasn't been able to catch a break since losing her position as DHS Secretary, and neither can the rest of her family. The rumored affair between Kristi and "special government employee" Corey Lewandowski took a wild turn after her husband Bryon's own infidelity was put on blast. An exposé by the Daily Mail revealed her husband's alleged double life, including explicit messages with other women and $25,000 worth of payouts. This undoubtedly embarrassed not only his own parents after they defended his loyalty in the face of the Lewandowski rumors, but also their three children.
The couple's eldest daughter, Kassidy Noem Peters, had been on a lavish vacation in Longboat Key, Florida, three weeks before the bombshell article on her father, posting her picture-perfect weekend to Facebook in early March. She captioned one reel with "one of those weekends you just need – the greatest friends, real conversation, and the beach," which seemed like she was hinting at needing a break from the media circus surrounding her mom's alleged affair and public firing. All things considered, the Noem children had been putting on a brave face, as Peters and her younger sister Kennedy Frick were still uploading their "Threads of Wellth" podcast — even boasting about its stats on Instagram. However, we might not be hearing from Kassidy for a while, as the addition of Bryon's scandal has forced her to go private on social media.
Kassidy Noem Peters might be done answering for her parents messy marriage
The children and relatives of public figures are often forced to answer for their family's mistakes, but the combined scandals of Bryon and Kristi Noem wouldn't be the first time that their eldest daughter, Kassidy Noem Peters, has been caught in the crosshairs.
The controversial reputation of "ICE Barbie" had already plagued Peters' life in more ways than one, as the realtor's reputation was sullied by rumors regarding her mother's interference with her certification. In her 2021 letter of resignation to the South Dakota Department of Labor Secretary, Marcia Hultman, Peters had written, "I know as the Governor's daughter I am always going to be in the public eye. I can't stop these attacks, but I can choose whether to keep being hurt by the fallout" (via Dakota News Now). It's clear that making her social accounts private was a deliberate choice to minimize the attacks, but it's unclear how Peters will move forward from her shattered family life.
Peters and her younger sister, Kennedy Frick, were already struggling to launch their family-focused podcast "Threads of Wellth" on their socials – Instagram comments had to be limited after posts featuring Kristi were filled with demands to recognize ICE's worst scandals. Responses on one post like "News flash: your mom would've deported Jesus," and "Aren't you lucky – unlike all the people your mother is hurting," undoubtedly made it difficult to grow a brand without the impact of DHS' scandals. Whether Peters will pick a side, pick no side, or simply disappear from the public eye is still uncertain.
