Police Bodycam Footage Of Tiger Woods After Latest DUI Crash Is Wild To See

In the afternoon of March 27, 2026, legendary golfer Tiger Woods once again suffered some tragedy by being involved in yet another nasty car crash. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Woods kneeling on the grass a few feet away from his SUV, which was lying on its side after striking a trailer. Initial reports simply stated that it was determined that Woods was driving under the influence, though there was no alcohol in his system, per CNN. On April 2, the Martin County Sheriff's Office released bodycam footage of the assessment, shedding some light on how Woods behaved during his encounter with law enforcement.

In a video uploaded to X, Woods can be seen overly relaxed, leaning on the hood of a police vehicle as he sluggishly performs a field sobriety test. Woods also admits to taking several prescription and over the counter medications throughout the day. According to CNN, deputies at the scene found two pills in Woods' front pocket, which were later determined to be hydrocodone. Although the circumstances of him having the hydrocodone in this instance are unclear, Woods has been open about his struggles with abusing prescription pills over the years, especially in the wake of several injuries requiring surgery.

The golf pro was arrested at the scene after the sobriety test. Though he blew a 0.000 breathalyzer test at the station, Woods refused to undergo any drug testing. He pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge and was released from the Martin County Jail later the same day. However, there are striking similarities to this arrest and a previous DUI charge he caught in 2017.

Tiger Woods has a history of driving under the influence

In May 2017, Tiger Woods was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence. Though there was no dangerous car crash in this instance, it does bear similarities to Woods' March 2026 arrest. According to CNN at the time, there was no alcohol in his system, but Woods did admit to having "an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications." He underwent treatment as well as performed community service, and it appears he's likely to repeat some of these steps once again.

Though this accident wasn't nearly as horrific as Woods' roll-over car crash in 2021, it does bear repercussions. While awaiting his May 5 court date, Woods has made an official statement on X, indicating he's already making steps in the direction of recovery. "I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health," part of the statement reads, continuing that his aim is to "work toward lasting recovery." He thanks his friends and fans for their support, while also asking for privacy for himself and those in his life. It's heartening to see Woods get the help he needs, if only he would let someone else drive him around for a while.
