Tiger Woods' Ego Took The Wheel With Braggy Call To Trump Amid Arrest (& The Cops Couldn't Care Less)
Just when it seemed like Tiger Woods' tragic life was about to take a turn for the better, a new plot twist has (literally) flipped the narrative. On March 27, 2026, the iconic golfer drove his Land Rover into a pressure-cleaner truck, rolling the SUV on its side. It wasn't the first time Woods was involved in a roll-over car crash; in 2021, he was in a similar wreck and suffered serious leg injuries. However, this latest crisis was the first time he used his highest connection in an apparent attempt to impress the cops.
In a short bodycam clip shared on X, Woods is seen walking down the road in the middle of a conversation, saying, "All right, you got it. Thank you. Bye." As the unseen officer asks him to come over, the Masters champ holds up his phone and says, "Yeah — I was just talking with the president." Talk about a I've got friends in high places name-drop! Perhaps Woods was hoping the officers were MAGA loyalists, and as such might let him go out of respect for President Donald Trump's back-the-blue, law-and-order platform.

Didn't happen. Following standard protocol, the police asked him whether he had recently been drinking or used drugs. Woods admitted to having taken medication, and though he passed a Breathalyzer test, he refused to take a urine test and performed poorly on a field sobriety test as well. The discovery of two opioid pills in his pocket only sank him further. Unmoved by Woods' proximity to the White House, the officers arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
Is Donald Trump giving his friend Woods the cold shoulder?
It speaks volumes that Tiger Woods' first instinct after crashing his car while allegedly under the influence was to call Donald Trump. The president's public reaction spoke even louder. Asked about the incident that same day, Trump said (per X), "I feel so badly. He's got some difficulty. ... He's a very close friend of mine, an amazing person, an amazing man, but, uh, some difficulty." That refusal to defend his "close friend," or even suggest that the DUI allegations were false, put Woods' connection to the Trump family under the microscope. The president may love golf, celebrities, and especially golf celebrities, but he loves associating with successful people even more. When one of Trump's "winners" fails to live up to their potential, their warm relationship with the president can turn icy mighty fast.
Eyes are now shifting to Woods' romance with another member of the family. Vanessa Trump, former wife of Donald Trump Jr., has been quietly seeing the golf champ since around late 2024. Vanessa had initially been silent on the issue, then finally posted a reaction to her Instagram Stories on April 3: a photo of them cuddling on a hammock, along with two heart emojis and the caption: "Love you." Yet considering that the Daily Mail spoke to a source days earlier who claimed Vanessa was "disappointed and a little bit p***ed," the post looked more like damage control than a true stand-by-your-man statement.
Woods is reportedly headed to a treatment facility abroad, so if we don't see the golf champ around Mar-a-Lago for a while, we can't assume he's out of favor with the president ... yet.
