Debbie Reynolds' Granddaughter Grew Up To Absolutely Stunning

Hollywood dynasties are a tradition that go back to the very beginning of movie history, but some of them are more obvious than others. There's no hiding that Michael Douglas is Kirk Douglas' son, or that Drew Barrymore comes from a long line of silver screen legends. But other famous families sometimes fly under the radar. Many a horror fan may be shocked to learn that frequent "American Horror Story" actor Billie Lourd is the granddaughter of the great Debbie Reynolds. But once you realize Lourd and the "Singin' in the Rain" star are related, it becomes impossible to ignore how much they look alike — and she's just a gorgeous as her grandmother.

Lourd and her grandmother share the same joyful smile and big, beautiful eyes that make them both stand out onscreen. Their stunning looks make them an easy fit for any role and the two share a quick wit that has helped endear them to fans. Beauty and a way with words didn't skip a generation, either. Lourd's mother, Carrie Fisher, was also a beautiful woman and a fantastic writer. While they both clearly loved Lourd, Fisher and Reynolds didn't always get along and it seems grandma wanted credit for Lourd in the press.

During an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Myers," in 2016, Lourd revealed that Reynolds had a bit of a jealous streak, saying, "She gets really upset when I get called 'Carrie Fisher's daughter,' she wants people to call me 'Debbie Reynolds' granddaughter.' She does not like to be cut out. She started it." Whether she's called Carrie Fisher's daughter or Debbie Reynolds' granddaughter, it's safe to say Lourd is a stunning addition to her family lineage, both in looks and wit. 

Carrie Fisher tragically passed away on December 27, 2016. And just as her daughter Billie Lourd and the family were dealing with the loss, Fisher's mother, Debbie Reynolds, died on the 28th. While the back-to-back losses were hard on the whole family, it was especially difficult for Lourd, whose uncle, Todd Fisher, told E! News, "She's got their genes but you can't even imagine. I can't imagine being 24 and having to do this and I'm 59." In the days that followed, Lourd posted a photo to Instagram showing her mother, her grandmother, and her together, each of their personalities shining through. She wrote, "There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby."

Proving that she inherited more than their good looks, Lourd showed off her ability to turn a phrase when she opened up about losing her mother and grandmother so close together to her "American Horror Story" co-star Sarah Paulson for Town & Country, saying, "If life's not funny, then it's just true — and that would be unacceptable. Even when she died, that was what got me through that whole thing." Lourd went on to discuss how, without her mother and grandmother, she's had to learn to be herself. "I've always kind of lived in their shadows..." Lourd explained. "I love being my mother's daughter, and it's something I always will be, but now I get to be just Billie." But being herself doesn't mean Lourd is leaving the past behind. The "Adulthood" star had her first child in 2020 and paid tribute to her mother when it came time to name her son.
