A new phase of the royal family truce may be upon us. Despite the fact that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex is seemingly mending fences with King Charles III, his frosty relationship with William, Prince of Wales seemed to be making "no movement" toward amends — until now. Rumor has it that Harry's move to the U.K. may mean a meeting with his estranged brother and sister-in-law is imminent.

Every summer for decades, the royal family has taken a trip to Balmoral Castle in Scotland. During this year's vacation, Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex's surprising return to the U.K. was reportedly the hot topic. Sources told royal biographer Duncan Larcombe that the idea of William and Catherine, Princess of Wales meeting with Harry was floated, per Woman & Home. This is not, however, the result of William hoping to make amends with his brother. "William is extremely concerned about what Harry's return to Britain will mean for working members of the family," an insider told Larcombe, noting, "It may well be too risky for them to just sit back and let Harry make the next move."

Harry will likely be more than happy to meet with William

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex is seemingly ready to move past this family feud — and that includes the bad blood with William, Prince of Wales. A source spoke with Closer upon Harry's move to the U.K. in August 2026 and brought up how he reportedly wants to patch things up with William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, both for himself and for King Charles III's benefit. "Harry believes William can be vengeful and knows it's not fair that he's being told he has to essentially beg his brother to come to the table and accept his apology," the insider said. "But, it's also the pattern he's been used to for as long as he can remember." From the sound of it, this apparently hasn't changed. Even so, the royals are reportedly beginning to view some kind of white flag between William and Harry as a necessity.

"There are suggestions that they feel they have no choice but to ask the Duke of Sussex for a face-to-face meeting to discuss the future and lay down, or at least reiterate, some of the rules," the source told Duncan Larcombe for Woman & Home, seemingly referring to Charles, William, and Kate Middleton. "Whether Harry will agree to meeting them all is up for debate, but it is felt that the King and William have little option but to try," they noted. Considering the fact that Harry has reportedly wanted a truce with his family for years, it's hard to imagine him turning the offer down — even if a reconciliation may be on the table for different reasons than he had hoped.
