Actor and model Elizabeth Hurley has a storied love life, and one thing several of her exes have in common is that they're sorry they ever let her go. Fellow English actor Hugh Grant is one of them. He dated Hurley from 1987 to 2000, and the breakdown of their relationship came after he cheated on her in 1995. As the "Notting Hill" star acknowledged to People in 2018, "I was just an idiot," adding that they were thankfully still on good terms. "We're like brother and sister," Grant explained, clarifying that they went through good and bad times together, which strengthened their relationship. Australian cricketer Shane Warne shared similar sentiments.
He and Hurley dated from 2010 to 2013. In Warne's 2018 autobiography, "No Spin," he included a chapter about the relationship, which included a brief engagement. "I still care for her deeply," the Aussie athlete penned. "I think we were good for each other and I know that I miss the love we had." In an interview with The Mirror a few years prior to his 2022 death, Warne shared, "My years with Elizabeth were the happiest of my life." Then there was film producer and businessman Stephen Bing, who did not part with Hurley on good terms, back in 2001.
When the "Bedazzled" star fell pregnant with her son, Damian, and named Bing as the father, he released a statement denying it. "Ms. Hurley and I were not in an exclusive relationship when she became pregnant. It is her choice to be a single mother," the investor proclaimed, per Hello! magazine. "If indeed I am the father, I will be an extremely involved and responsible parent." Bing, who passed away in 2020, was the dad. They were on better terms by the time he died.
Elizabeth Hurley has maintained a good relationship with most of her exes
Elizabeth Hurley has only been married once, and since her divorce from businessman Arun Nayar, in 2008, the "Austin Powers" star hasn't ventured back down the aisle. Hurley has weathered several tragedies throughout her life, but she's always managed to maintain amicable relationships with most of her exes. After the actor's split from Hugh Grant, the former couple remained so close that Shane Warne ended his romance with Hurley, in part, because he had such a hard time believing they were just friends. "I got jumpy about the time Elizabeth still spent with Hugh Grant," Warne dished in "No Spin." "He is her best friend but they saw each other more when I wasn't around so, well, you know."
Despite breaking up in 2000, Hurley and Grant are still close to this day, and it's easy to see why Warne had reservations. In a 2021 interview with the "PEOPLE in the '90s" podcast, Hurley opened up about her friendship with Grant. "I'm still extremely good friends with Hugh," she enthused, elaborating, "You know, we went through so much together." In fact, he's the godfather of her son with Steve Bing, Damian. It's probably fair to say that chatter about their continued friendship won't ever die down, given that the media and fans alike are constantly dissecting Grant's love life.
As for Warne, Hurley was pretty fond of him following their split too. Amid his sudden death in 2022, she paid a heartfelt tribute to her former fiancé on Instagram, complete with several snaps of their time together as a couple. The "Royals" star captioned it: "I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever. RIP my beloved Lionheart."
