American model Amber Valletta got discovered at 17 because her mom put her in modeling classes in Tulsa, Oklahoma. "They asked if I wanted to come to Europe for the summer to model," Valletta recalled. "I didn't even really know what that meant. I just wanted to go to Europe" (via Interview Magazine). From there, Valletta became a supermodel in the early '90s and landed multiple Vogue cover shoots. The Oklahoma-born model also worked with Prada and Calvin Klein during the heroin chic era, and her photoshoots embodied '90s trends like androgyny and minimalism. With her luminous eyes and skin, Valletta became a muse for fashion houses like Mugler and Karl Lagerfeld in her youth, but she also looks amazing in her middle years.

In April 2026, the model attended a luncheon hosted by the Living Beauty Cancer Foundation and Mytheresa. She wore a nice white dress with a high neck collar and three tiers of white feathers. Her forehead and cheeks were glowing at 52 years old, and the skin looked pretty smooth all over. Valletta had signs of aging around her mouth and under her eyes, but her defined bone structure remained the same over the span of three decades. For makeup, she used mascara to give her eyes some depth, but it seemed like she didn't wear anything else.

Amber Valletta is all about sustainability, in beauty and beyond

Amber Valletta might not be as famous as other original supermodels from the '90s, but she built her career around the same time as them. Inspired by her mom and uncle's environmental activism, she became the sustainability ambassador for Karl Lagerfeld in 2021 and released her first collection with the luxury brand.

On top of creating more sustainable materials with Karl Lagerfeld, Valletta also became the Fashion Institute of Technology's sustainability ambassador to give younger creatives the chance to better the environment. "Education is key to all change for the betterment of our planet," Valletta said. "The way forward is through the understanding of where we have been, and then reimagining through education a brighter world for all" (via Glossy).

Sustainability is a key part of her beauty routine, too. In 2020, she became the first contributing sustainability editor at British Vogue. In 2023, upon being named the face of sustainable brand Lyma Skincare, she spoke to British Vogue about her beauty routine, giving us insight into how she keeps her skin looking so fresh in middle age. She starts her morning off with cleanser and toner, avoiding piling on too many products. "Depending if I'm going out or not, I will mix moisturiser and sunscreen together," she said. Her evening routine is mainly about cleansing and toning. "For me it's about gentle [skincare] but regenerating the skin; helping those fine lines and tightening pores, anti-ageing," she
