Demi Moore's Bold Short Hair Transformation 'Highlights Her Personality'
Demi Moore is as famous for her off-screen life as she is for her decades of amazing work on film. The actor burst onto the scene when she joined the cast of "General Hospital" just before she turned 19. Moore has been a star ever since, both for her leading roles in classic movies like "Ghost" and "A Few Good Men" and for her fashion sense. Throughout the 1990s, Moore kept her hair short, often with a pixie cut that emphasized her soft features and natural good looks. But as she got older, Moore changed things up and grew her hair out well past her shoulders. But the "Landman" star stunned everyone when she showed up for Milan Fashion Week in February 2026 with a new bob.
The look, nicknamed "Demi-tris BoB" by stylist Dimitris Giannetos, matched Moore's tight black leather jacket and pants and gave the actor a sleek, sexy, futuristic look. For Giannetos, the goal was simple, telling InStyle, "I felt an amazing, short, above the shoulder bob with this very sleek, wet texture would be perfect to complement her look. She looks very cool, effortless, and modern. And it highlights her personality." And, based on the online reactions to the photos Giannetos put on Instagram, fans can't get enough of Moore's new look.
While a few fans were torn over the dramatic change, with a user responding, "looks beautiful but her hair was so gorgeous and long," the vast majority of replies were joyously supportive. One person commented, "OMG obsessed!" while another called it "simple, classic, beautiful, and chic." Others couldn't help but notice how, along with making Moore look younger, she also resembled "Friends" star Courteney Cox and Carrie-Anne Moss in "The Matrix."
Demi Moore's new look didn't last long
As it turned out, Demi Moore's new do wasn't meant to last, and the "Indecent Proposal" star is still attached to the long locks, confirming that the "Demi-tris BoB" was a wig. Moore explained the short-lived change, showing up at a Kérastase event and, per Hello!, an "incredible moment" before explaining that it was her way of "just being able to play and step into another facet of my personality." And, to put any lingering questions to rest, Moore, who is still close to her former husband Bruce Willis, later posted photos showing off her gorgeous long black hair on Instagram, adding, "The long hair is here to stay."
It isn't surprising that people believed Moore would be willing to make such a drastic change. While celebrities with shockingly short hairstyles aren't anything new, the icon took things to a whole new level in 1997 when she shaved her head for "G.I. Jane." Moore had gone through plenty of transformations before then, but when she appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" to show off her clean-shaven noggin, calling it "My new topless look," fans were blown away, and the talk show host couldn't stop rubbing her head. In April 2025, Moore discussed going bald for the movie with People, saying that shaving her head is "Why I've grown much more attached to my hair as it is today."
