Justin Hartley Has Quite The Age Gap With His Third Wife

Soap opera star and "This Is Us" actor Justin Hartley is married to his third wife, Sofia Pernas, a fellow actor. The two met on the set of the popular soap opera "The Young and the Restless" years before they started dating, though they didn't officially couple up until 2020. A year later, they were married. While the couple seems to be doing quite well a few years into their marriage, there are many eyes on them. In fact, one thing that's often brought up in conversation about them is the fact that Hartley is about 12 to 13 years older than his wife. Pernas is also only 14 years older than Hartley's daughter, Isabella.

While the major age difference between the two might be a point of contention for fans, it doesn't seem to bother Hartley and his wife at all. In a revealing interview in May 2026 on the I've Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario podcast, Hartley described how special their love is and how some people in their lives "cannot handle" their relationship. He shared advice from his stepdad to take care with who they surround themselves with, saying, "When you find the person [for you], there will be people in your life that you think are your friends, and they simply cannot handle your relationship."

For Hartley, his relationship with Pernas is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love, with the TV star even referring to her as his "soulmate." He added, "When you do have it, you got to just hold on to it. It's so special and fragile, in some ways, and rare, unfortunately. She's everything; she's fantastic." The two have seemed happy in love ever since tying the knot in 2021. 

Sofia Pernas and Justin Hartley got married in a private ceremony in 2021, and since then, they've been enjoying married life together. For Pernas, this is her first marriage, but for Hartley, it's his third. He was first married to another soap opera actress, Lindsay Korman, from 2004 to 2012, and they share a daughter named Isabella. Pernas seems quite close with her stepdaughter, and in an interview with Page Six in 2022, she praised Isabella's character, calling her "so wise." She went on, "She knows exactly what she wants."

Korman and Hartley divorced in 2012, but they continue to co-parent Isabella together. After his first divorce, the "This Is Us" star got married to Chrishell Stause in 2017. Stause was also a soap opera actress on "All My Children," and she's well-known for her time on the reality TV series "Selling Sunset." Hartley and his second wife were married for a few years until they finally divorced in 2021. Thanks to the split, Hartley was able to reconnect with Pernas, and the rest is history. 

These days, former co-stars Hartley and Pernas have even reunited on-screen. Pernas got a part on Hartley's hit TV show, "Tracker," and fans love seeing them together in the show. When Pernas shared a behind-the-scenes snap from set, fans cheered them on, writing, "I love when you make appearances on this show! I hope they keep bringing you back!" Another said, "The chemistry between y'all is so pure; you can even see it in the show."
