Presley Gerber Was 'More Than Just A Friend's Kid' To George Clooney

The model's death shocked the world and left his family heartbroken, including George Clooney, who is very good friends with Presley's father, Rande Gerber. Sources divulged to the Daily Mail that Presley's death hit the A-lister, who reportedly loved him like a second son, pretty hard. "They were close. Presley was more than just a friend's kid; they had a bond," an insider explained. Another, industry source added, "He was part of George's family. This isn't George's tragedy alone, and he would never make it about himself, but he is feeling this loss deeply." 

Clooney reportedly served as a mentor to Presley, who faced his fair share of tragedies during his life and was very open about his struggles with depression and substance abuse. The "Ocean's Eleven" star reportedly did his best to help the model overcome these issues. "George would spend hours talking to Presley. George is the nicest guy in the world and would do anything to help Rande's family," an insider disclosed. Clooney had a talk with Presley after he was arrested for drinking and driving in 2018, and in the last days of the model's life continued to show his support. 

"George shared loving notes like, 'I am here for you,' that kind of stuff," they added. Now, the actor is supporting Presley's family as they grieve his death. As Page Six reported, "Cindy is inconsolable. She's absolutely devastated," with their source adding, "This is every parent's worst nightmare, and the family is still trying to process everything that happened."

In early September 2026, Presley Gerber's sister, Kaia Gerber, sat down for a chat on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and offered some insight into their special bond with George Clooney. As it turns out, they have a very playful relationship, with the Hollywood icon often subjecting them to his famously super elaborate pranks. "When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone," she said. Kaia and Presley had a deep bond before his untimely death, and sources confirmed to Page Six that Clooney is lending incredible support to Kaia and the rest of her family during this difficult time. He and his wife, Amal Clooney, were spotted at Kaia's house two days after Presley's death to provide some comfort.
