Angus T. Jones grew up in front of millions of viewers playing Jake Harper in "Two and a Half Men." But since leaving the popular series in the 10th season, Jones has kept a low profile, only appearing on screen a few times since 2013. Moving out of the spotlight when he was 17, Jones went off to college, studying at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Jones did return to "Two and a Half Men" for the series finale in 2015, where he sported a beard and long hair, but in 2020, he announced that he was switching careers in what has served as his final Instagram post, writing, "I do music now, go head and get used to it, loves." Still, the young star's fans are always eager for a life update, hoping that he is doing well and enjoying his days. But after so much time away from the cameras, Jones could be standing next to them on the checkout line, and they may not even realize it. As this photo shows, Jones has changed a lot over the years.

Joining the list of child stars who ditched Hollywood, Jones barely resembles the boy so many saw on TV for a decade, growing a scruffy beard and heading out in a T-shirt, hat, and sunglasses. While his outfit doesn't let on, Jones made history as the highest paid child actor of all time during his final season on "Two and a Half Men," making a reported $350,000 per episode.  While others may have been tempted to live a lavish life like other former child stars, Jones seems content with living a quiet life.

Angus T. Jones left Two and a Half Men over his religious beliefs

Just two years after Charlie Sheen was let go from "Two and a Half Men," Angus T. Jones left the show. His decision to walk away was in part fueled by a religious reawakening, saying in a video, "I started to really get into reading the Bible, and I started to look for a church to start going to ..." His search led him to the Seventh-day Adventist church, which matched what he was looking for, saying, "I just loved it. It was so great. It was so clear, too," before admitting that his newfound faith was concerning to Jones' parents.

In the same video, Jones pleads with people to stop watching his show, saying, "If you watch 'Two and a Half Men,' please stop watching ... stop filling your head with filth." But just a few days after the video was released, the actor released a statement apologizing for what he said about the show, writing (per Today), "I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that." But after leaving the series, Jones again spoke out against it, telling KHOU in 2014, "It was difficult for me to be on the show and be part of something that was making light of topics in our world where there are really problems for a lot of people. I was a paid hypocrite because I wasn't OK with it, and I was still doing it."
