Hallmark's Jessy Schram Looks Different Without Her Signature Blonde Hair
Known for saving lives on "Chicago Med" and falling in love in several Hallmark movies, Jessy Schram is one of TV's biggest blonde-haired stars. She first gained the attention of viewers as the blonde-haired Susan Davis in Hallmark's "Jane Doe" movies, and her golden locks even helped her portray one of the most famous fictional princesses of all time when she took on the role of Cinderella on "Once Upon a Time." Fans have become so accustomed to seeing Schram as a blonde that they may not even remember that when she first appeared on the long-running NBC medical drama in 2020, she was sporting a very different look.
Making her debut in the fifth season of "Chicago Med," Schram joined the series as Dr. Hannah Asher, a skilled OB-GYN who went through her own personal struggles, including a heroin addiction, to become a respected member of the team at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. But in those early days, Schram had ditched her flaxen hairdo for auburn.
While we don't know the exact reasons why she decided to go with a darker look, Schram may have made her stunning shift to brunette for Hallmark's 2020 movie "Country at Heart" and kept it for her early appearances as a recurring character on "Chicago Med" that same year. Like other blue-eyed celebs who went from blonde to brunette, Schram's darker hair helped make her peepers pop, but she didn't stick with it for too long. Schram was back to blonde by the time she showed up in the show's sixth season and introduced her long bob look in the seventh.
Jessy Schram tried a different look in 2013
Years before joining "Chicago Med" as a brunette, Jessy Schram made an even bigger change to her hair when she dyed it red. Schram posted a pic of herself with the fiery locks on Instagram in 2013, and her fans couldn't get enough of it, with responses ranging from the very positive "I love it!" to the more subdued but equally supportive "Dig it." The red hair didn't last long; Schram was already appearing on "Once Upon a Time" and "Falling Skies" as a blonde and didn't show up on either show with the crimson hairdo.
Based on childhood photos Schram has shared on Instagram, she appears to be a natural blonde and may be more comfortable keeping her hair closer to her true color than taking chances with something different. The Hallmark star even made sure to rock the blonde locks for her wondrous wedding day, where she was simply stunning. But based on the photos of her as a brunette and a redhead, it seems pretty clear that the actor looks great no matter what. It doesn't hurt that Schram is just as stunning without makeup as she is with it.
