Ever thought of naming your baby after one of them? If not, you may be surprised by how many great options there are.

"When Calls the Heart" star Erin Krakow described the series as "lightning in a bottle" and it's easy to see why. As of 2025, "When Calls the Heart" is the most-watched cable TV series. That has a lot to do with its cast. Have a character whose personality you love? They just might lead you to the perfect name. The series has been around for a whopping 13 seasons and counting, so a lot of time has passed both on the show and in real life. And since Season 1 was set in 1910, this period piece remains a treasure trove of vintage baby names, ripe for the choosing.

Played by Johannah Newmarch, Molly is smart, strong, and determined. Setting your child up with that kind of inspo will definitely start them out on the right foot.

Fittingly, the name Molly means "rebellious," as well as "beloved," per The Bump. The name is of British, Latin, Greek, and Hebrew origin. Since its time in the top 100 baby girl names in the U.S. in the '90s through the 2010s, the name Molly has taken a serious dip in popularity. Yet, in 2025, it had a slight increase in popularity that landed it in the No. 196 spot for baby girls born in the U.S. We can totally imagine this name regaining its footing in the years to come, so now's the perfect time to choose it for your baby.

"When Calls the Heart" fans know there's a lot to love about Nathan Grant. There's a lot to love about the name Nathan, too. Minnie is both classic and unique

When it comes time to pick a baby name, plenty of parents-to-be want something classic, while many others prioritize choosing a name that's unique, yet classic. However, unique and classic don't typically have much overlap. If you're torn between these two styles, Minnie is an adorable in-between. Minnie Mouse is likely the character most people think of when they hear the name. As far as we're concerned, there's nothing wrong with that. Minnie Mouse is a total icon, after all. Hearties, on the other hand, might think of Minnie Canfield, played by Natasha Burnett. Who wouldn't want their daughter to turn out kind, caring, and strong like her?

This name has German, Latin, and English origins. It originally started out as a nickname for names like Wilhelmina or Minerva, which are, of course, great options, too, according to The Bump. And while there's nothing new about this particular name, it's not a trendy name that will go out of style soon, either. In 2025, Minnie was No. 3060 among baby girls born in the U.S. If you name your baby Minnie, the likelihood of there being another child with the same name in her class will be pretty slim.

Some names that seem adorable for kids sound a bit silly for adults. And, by the same token, some names that sound great for adults feel a bit too serious and grown-up for a baby. Other names are perfect no matter your age. Cooper is definitely one of those names. Cooper Canfield, played by Elias Leacock, is the son of Joseph and Minnie Canfield. And it's easy to imagine having a kid just like Cooper. He's full of imagination and enthusiasm and he certainly has an appreciation for fun and mischief.
