Kate Middleton's Most Gorgeous Jewelry Pieces, Ranked From Least To Most Expensive
As befits any princess in the royal family, Catherine, Princess of Wales has been seen wearing a number of impressive pieces of jewelry. Many of the pieces in the royal family's jewelry collection come with their own history and get worn by generation after generation. Kate has been able to keep some of the treasured and historic jewels in the spotlight, like all the times that Kate has worn a tiara.
Even though Kate has access to gemstones and pearls that the rest of us can only dream about, we have to remember that she wasn't born a royal. As such, Kate seems just as comfortable wearing jewelry that you and I could buy from an ordinary store.
While beauty is, as always, in the eye of the beholder, these eye-catching pieces of Kate's range from the affordable to the practically priceless. Kate owns some of the pieces pictured here, while others are ones that she's borrowed from the royal collection. And she's looked good in all of them.
8. Kate's blue bohemian Sézane earrings are a relative bargain
When Catherine, Prince and Princess of Wales, visited the Caribbean on a royal tour in 2022, not everything went smoothly. But what was impeccable were Kate's outfits and accessories, including a pair of bright blue, beaded Sézane earrings.
The statement earrings cost just £55 (or around $74), and they paired perfectly with her red, white, and blue Tory Burch dress. They also brought a touch of playfulness and bohemian style to her look, which isn't something we get too often from her.
7. Kate Middleton's baroque pearl necklace is a classic and affordable style
When it comes to making a subtle statement of quiet luxury, nothing does it quite so well as a single pearl. You don't even need royal family money to do so. Catherine, Princess of Wales, has worn a Monica Vinader pearl necklace a number of times, including during a visit to Copenhagen in 2022.
The "Nura Pearl" necklace is still available on the Monica Vinader website, with the baroque pearl pendant selling for $110 and the gold chain for $100. Other Monica Vinader pieces that Kate has worn include green onyx earrings and a diamond necklace and earring set.
6. Kate chose gold hoop earrings made by someone who got help from the crown
Catherine, Princess of Wales, has worn a number of pieces that have a touching connection to others in the royal family, including a pair of textured gold hoop earrings during a trip to Harvard University in Boston in 2022. They were made by Lenique Louis, and Louis got her start in the jewelry business with a loan from the Prince's Trust, a U.K. charity that helps young people empower themselves.
"Kate is very conscious when it comes to her style choices, and makes an effort to support British brands," Louis told the Daily Mail when the news broke about Kate's earring choice. "She could have gone to any of the big houses, but she wanted to get them from an independent designer – who was helped by her father-in-law."
While the Mail said that Kate's earrings are a bespoke pair of Organic Spine hoop earrings that retailed for £285, various pairs in that line — described as "a playful take on coral reef" are available online. A pair similar to Kate's, the medium-sized Organic Spine hoop earrings in gold, now retails for £303.95 (around $406).
5. The heart necklace Kate wore may have been a gift from Prince William
Catherine, Princess of Wales, stepped out for a meeting with the Archbishop of Canterbury in February 2026, and she was wearing a gold necklace with a heart-shaped pendant by Daniella Draper. There are theories that the necklace was a present from Prince William.
If you want to channel your inner princess, you can get a necklace like this for €3,150 (around $4,212). A key feature of the piece is that you can get a custom engraving, such as a message in a loved one's handwriting, on it, so Kate's necklace may carry a sentimental inscription.
Daniella Draper is a British jewelry brand that Kate seems to love; she also has one of their necklaces with the initials of her three children on it. The build-your-own necklaces with Daniella Draper, which can include up to six charms, including letters, start at €195 (around $261).
4. Kate has worn Queen Elizabeth's multi-strand pearls
Queen Elizabeth II was often seen wearing a multi-strand of pearls, and her granddaughter-in-law has been following in her sartorial footsteps. Catherine, Princess of Wales, wore a four-strand pearl necklace with diamonds at the center to both the queen's and Prince Philip's funerals. It's not just a mourning necklace; she also wore it during the Qatari royal family's state visit in 2024.
The necklace was made by Garrard from pearls that Queen Elizabeth was gifted in 1975 during a visit to Japan. It's part of a matching collection that also includes a bracelet. Kate is the second Princess of Wales to wear the necklace, with Princess Diana as the first. Estimates for the value of the necklace range from £23,000 (or around $30,766) up to £400,000 (or around $536,000).
3. Kate's engagement ring is now worth more than half a million
One of Catherine, Princess of Wales', most well-known pieces of jewelry is her engagement ring. It was once Princess Diana's engagement ring, and it features a 12-carat sapphire surrounded by smaller diamonds. It's not a custom-designed piece; instead, it was part of a collection by Garrad, the official royal jeweler.
In 1981, Princess Diana chose it from a selection of other rings, which included some from the royal collection. At the time, the sapphire ring by Garrard was available for purchase for commoners and royalty alike for $37,500. It's now estimated to be worth around $517,000.
2. Kate Middleton's wedding tiara is worth more than $1 million
When Catherine, Princess of Wales, married William, Prince of Wales, in 2011, she wore the stunning Cartier Halo Tiara. It has 888 diamonds, and it was made in 1936 for Queen Elizabeth II's mother. She then gave it to Elizabeth on her 18th birthday. It's on the smaller side, making it easier to wear. Princess Margaret donned the sparkling tiara a few times, including at Queen Elizabeth's coronation, and Princess Anne wore it in the 1960s and 1970s.
The tiara may not literally belong to Kate; however, no one else has worn it since her wedding. It's worth a whopping $1.3 million.
1. Kate has worn one of the most expensive necklaces in the royal collection
The most expensive piece of jewelry that Catherine, Princess of Wales, has worn has to be the Nizam of Hyderabad Necklace. It was originally a wedding gift to Queen Elizabeth II from Asaf Jah VII, the ruler of Hyderabad. This Cartier-designed necklace is made of dozens of diamonds in a floral shape, and it's worth around £65 million (around $86 million). This makes it one of the most expensive pieces in the royal collection, minus the literal royal crowns and tiaras.
Kate first wore the pricey piece in 2014 for an event at the National Portrait Gallery. She brought it out again in 2019 for the Diplomatic Corps Reception, and that time, she paired it with the Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara, which is worth around $135 million.
