Tina Louise was one of the most glamorous stars of the 1960s, thanks to her beloved role as bombshell movie star Ginger Grant. If you're wondering what happened to the "Gilligan's Island" star, she's not only still gorgeous, but has a stunning lookalike daughter too. In October 2026, Caprice Crane posted a photo of the duo snuggling up on Instagram that showed off their striking resemblance. She captioned the shot of the duo apple-picking together: "Doing it with my prettiest mama by my side!" Clearly, the businesswoman is just as pretty, inheriting her mom's bright eyes, glowing skin and radiant smile.

While the brunette doesn't share her mother's famous red tresses, the transformation of the last living "Gilligan's Island" star shows that Louise may have once had similarly dark hair. Regardless, fans online couldn't get over the mother-daughter duo, with one user commenting, "You both look gorgeous," while another wrote simply, "2 gorgeous angels." It's worth noting Louise and Crane share more than just their good looks — they clearly have a special bond too. This is especially evident from Crane's Instagram, where she often posts pics of herself and her kids spending time with the '60s star.

In March 2024, Crane confirmed to L.A. Parent that they've shared that relationship since her childhood. "It was mostly just me and my mom as I had no siblings and a father who would take lengthy breaks from visiting, so my mom and I were and are exceptionally close," she remarked. What may come as a surprise though, is that Crane didn't follow in Louise's acting footsteps, and instead took on a different Hollywood career.

Caprice Crane is a mom herself with her own creative career path

Caprice Crane may not have become an actor like her mother, Tina Louise, but she does work in the entertainment industry as a screenwriter. Crane's credits include "90210," "Melrose Place," and the 2011 rom-com "Love, Wedding, Marriage," starring Mandy Moore and Kellan Lutz. Unlike Louise, who couldn't stand rumor-spreading co-star Bob Denver, Crane has raved about working behind-the-scenes. As she enthused to Pop Entertainment in October 2009, while discussing "90210" and "Melrose Place," "I've gotten to be on set during the filming of all my episodes. Both shows have had such tremendous people."

Crane has also written novels, like "Family Affair" and "Stupid and Contagious." While she admitted to not having a mentor, the mother-of-two acknowledged she's always looked up to Louise, not because of her Hollywood successes, but due to the "Gilligan's Island" star's volunteering work with children. Crane, who is a mother of twins, also works with kids, having created her own children's clothing line, Royal Orchard. While the writer credits her children as her inspiration, you could say Louise had a little something to do with it too.

"I loved shopping with my mom at a little clothing shop called Pixie Town, and I wish something like it still existed, but maybe that's part of why I created my children's' clothing line," Crane told L.A. Parent. And just like her relationship with Louise, she has a deep connection with her two daughters. "One thing I know is that my kids know how loved they are," Crane opined. Evidently, alongside sharing similarly good looks, Crane took after Louise by becoming a stunning, successful creative, and a great mom in her own right too.
