Tyler Hynes' Best Hallmark Christmas Movies, Ranked
It doesn't feel like the holiday season without a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie — especially one starring one of our favorite leading men, Tyler Hynes. This Canadian actor first stole our hearts on the network in 2018, and his first Hallmark Christmas movie was "It's Christmas, Eve." He's been in 10 more holiday-themed Hallmark movies since then, with his 12th premiering on November 14, 2026. (Not to mention all the other Hallmark Channel movies Hynes has starred in so far!)
Fans of Hynes — known as "Hynies" — love his swoon-worthy leading man roles in movies like "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" and "Three Wise Men and a Baby." His scruffy beard (for most movies), twinkling eyes, and charming smile make us fall in love with him every time. In honor of this enchanting Hallmark star, we've ranked all of Hynes' Hallmark Channel Christmas movies based on reviews.
To come up with the ranking, we've combined each of the films' IMDb ratings with their Letterboxd scores, listing them from least liked to most loved. In the case where the movie's average stars added up to the same number, we ranked the film with the most ratings higher on the list. No matter where a film falls on our roundup, we think all are worth the watch for Hynes' incredible acting alone!
11. Never Been Chris'd
Chris (Tyler Hynes) is the star of a holiday-themed love triangle in "Never Been Chris'd." Naomi (Janel Parrish) and Liz (Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes) compete for the attention of their high school crush, Chris, when they all return home for the holiday season. This was the lowest ranked, but the entertainment value is off the charts. One viewer wrote on Letterboxd, "I've never had so much fun screaming and laughing at a movie with my mom before this one." As of writing, "Never Been Chris'd" has 5.5 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 2.5 out of 5 stars on Letterboxd.
10. Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story
Sports fans, "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" is for you! Tyler Hynes plays Derrick, who is tasked with judging a fan contest for the Kansas City Chiefs. This rom-com, also starring Hunter King, is full of Christmas magic. "Classically over the top and dramatic for sure. But the football of it all was fun," one person wrote on Letterboxd. It currently has 6.4 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 2.1 out of 5 stars on Letterboxd, at the time of writing.
9. The Mistletoe Secret

8. Christmas Above the Clouds
It's impossible to escape the holiday season — or your ex-boyfriends. At least, it is for a workaholic named Ella (Erin Krakow) in "Christmas Above the Clouds," who flies to Australia to avoid all things Christmas and runs into her ex, Jake (Tyler Hynes). She also gets visited by three spirits, "Christmas Carol"-style, in this magical film that someone on Letterboxd praised as "fun and fresh." This movie has 6.9 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 2.8 out of 5 stars on Letterboxd, as of writing.
7. It's Christmas, Eve

She plays Eve, a superintendent who plans to shut down a school music program in her hometown unless music teacher Liam (Hynes) can convince her it's worth saving. One of the biggest downsides, according to a reviewer? Hynes doesn't look right without his iconic beard! This one has 6.6 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 3 out of 5 stars on Letterboxd, as of writing.
6. Three Wisest Men
The third installment in the "Wise Men and a Baby" series, "Three Wisest Men," sees the return of our favorite Hallmark men, Tyler Hynes, Andrew Walker, and Paul Campbell, as they deal with a crazy holiday season — maybe their last one in the home they grew up in. The Brenner brothers are still so irresistible. "It's the trilogy that nobody asked for, but the one that we need right now," one person wrote about the movie on Letterboxd. This movie got 6.7 out of 10 on IMDb and 3 out of 5 stars on Letterboxd, as of writing.
5. An Unexpected Christmas
A second-chance romance and a fake dating trope in one Hallmark movie? Yes, please! In "An Unexpected Christmas," Jamie (Tyler Hynes) convinces his ex, Emily (Bethany Joy Lenz), to pretend they are still together for the holidays since he never told his family they broke up. One person praised Hynes and Lenz's connection on Letterboxd, writing that, "The leads have great chemistry." A requirement for a great love story! As of writing, "Three Wiser Men and a Boy" has 6.9 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 3 out of 5 stars on Letterboxd. This time, the boy is older, but the holiday hijinks are just as sweet. 3. On the 12th Date of Christmas
Tyler Hynes and Mallory Jansen are game designers who do not get along in the movie "On the 12th Date of Christmas." They team up to design a festive, "12 Days of Christmas"-themed scavenger hunt — and discover romance along the way. This fun film has 7.2 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 2.9 out of 5 stars on Letterboxd at time of writing.
2. Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas
"Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas" is one of Hynes' most emotional stories. A woman named Elizabeth (Holland Roden) is trying to find a man who accidentally left her a voicemail before Christmas pleading for another chance with his lost love, and Josh (Hynes) helps her along the way. It's sweet and heartfelt, with one person on Letterboxd calling it "a good cry type of movie that delivered a heartwarming and happy ending!"
