The Truth About Denise Richards' Husband, Aaron Phypers

Denise Richards and her husband, Aaron Phypers, are a power couple. Fans of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" know this quite well, having seen the pair in action on the show. Phypers has seen more than his fair share of drama on the show since joining "RHOBH" in 2019, but what many don't know is that the reality show was not his first TV appearance.

Phypers has some acting roles under his belt, per IMDb. In 2009, he appeared in the short "The Curiosity of Penny Parker" and in the documentary "Air Emergency." In 2011, he starred in another short, "The Leap."

Phypers isn't the most prolific actor, but he does have a successful career. As noted by Life & Style, he runs Malibu's Quantum 360, a healing center. Per Quantum 360's website, it "is a state-of-the-art healing center designed to foster optimal health in mind, body, and spirit." Regarding what her husband's business does, Richards explained (via The Daily Dish), "It's light and sound therapy."

Phypers and Richards met at the center and quickly fell for each other.

Denise Richards is 'in awe' of Aaron Phypers

Richards is Phypers' biggest cheerleader. "I'm always in awe of my husband & never get tired of hearing him talk about the incredible things he does," she wrote on Instagram. "He is the most compassionate & hardest working man I know. Even on his days off, he's ... helping people selflessly. I love all of his modalities & learning about new technology to help different things. It fascinates me & I love learning too. Many may not understand but I have seen so many people come & being grateful that he changed their life. And he changed mine & my daughters. Love him so much."

Phypers was previously married to Nicollette Sheridan, who starred in "Desperate Housewives." The couple was married for six months back in 2015 and separated the following year.

Phypers and Richards tied the knot in 2018 and formed a blended family with Richards' daughters from her previous marriage to Charlie Sheen, Sami and Lola. Richards said that Phypers is also adopting her daughter Eloise, who she adopted in 2011. "He's an amazing father," she told Us Weekly. "I already obviously call him, you know, her dad and that's our daughter ... it's the best thing ever."

He feels for Denise Richards amid her co-parenting issues with Charlie Sheen

Co-parenting isn't easy, as Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen found out when their daughter, Sami, dropped out of high school, left Richards' home, and moved in with her dad in 2021. "Honestly, I have a strained relationship with her and it's very difficult. I know we'll get back to where we were eventually but right now, it is strained," said Richards on "Jeff Lewis Live" (via Today).

While Richards hopes that her daughter will move back into her home someday, as of this writing Sami is still with Sheen, who is no longer required to pay child support as of October 2021. Aaron Phypers has reportedly done his best to support his wife during the emotional time. "Aaron's a kind man," a source told People. "He's in a tough role, but he keeps his cool. He's heartbroken because Denise is heartbroken that Charlie is pulling this after all she has done for him."

An incident on RHOBH sparked concern

Viewers were shocked back in 2020 after Aaron Phypers behaved in a worrying manner on a reunion episode of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." Per People, the couple left a barbecue hosted by Kyle Richards after a conversation among the group got a little too heated. What fans remember about the incident, though, is Phypers' comments when his wife told him to hold his tongue as the cameras were rolling. "Don't tell me what to say," he answered, holding her hand. "I'm going to crush your f****** hand. Stop it."When Bravo host Andy Cohen asked Denise Richards what was going on in that scene, Richards claimed her husband said he didn't remember the incident.

The entire thing had fans concerned, sparking a Reddit thread of worried viewers who called out the "red flags." One person commented, "Dude is a psycho and a con artist," while another said Richards "definitely gravitates toward douchebags."

Fans may have been worried, but Richards and Phypers seem to have moved on from the shocking incident and can be seen flaunting their love on Instagram. "My one and only I love you," she captioned a Valentine's Day pic of the couple less than two years after the episode aired.

He hasn't always liked what Denise has shared on RHOBH

While Aaron Phypers' controversial comments to his wife on "RHOBH" weren't acceptable, they might point to a bigger issue which is that Phypers never seemed fully comfortable with his wife's involvement in the "Real Housewives" franchise. Per Us Weekly, Denise Richards said things on the show that her husband didn't like — particularly details about their sex life. "Well, let me just say, there have been a few things that I've said that [Aaron's] been like, 'Why did you say that, baby?' And I'm like, 'I know, I'm sorry,'" she told the outlet in 2019. "But he knows me and he shakes his head and he loves me for that too and, you know, I'm a very honest person."

Phypers himself tiptoed around on the show, being very careful about how he discussed his job. On the show, Richards cautioned her castmates about how they talked about his work with Quantum 360, hinting that it could even put them in danger. "Aaron has a job where people get tremendous results and sometimes certain organizations don't like to see those results because they make a lot of money otherwise and there's times we're followed," she said (via Showbiz CheatSheet).
