What We Learned From The Welcome To Plathville Season 2 Trailer
Season 2 of Welcome to Plathville is finally on the way and it's promising a lot of drama. In an exclusive supertease from People, fans get a sneak peek at all of the drama coming our way. "In the last six months so much has changed," says Moriah Plath at the beginning of the trailer.
While we already knew that the wedge between Moriah and the Plaths has been growing bigger, the new trailer shows just how large that rift is. Since season 1, the Plaths have split into three households. The clan's parents, Kim and Barry have moved off their farm with the younger kids into a house closer to town. Oldest child Ethan and his wife, Olivia, are in their own home, as are Micah and Moriah. Technically, there are now four Plath households, although oldest daughter Hosanna, a violinist, isn't featured on the show as she tours with her husband, pianist Timothy Nobel.
Ethan Plath isn't in contact with his family
It isn't just the fact that Moriah and Micah have moved out that is separating the family. As revealed in the trailer, Ethan has no contact with his younger siblings and has asked his parents not to contact them. "It's like, .3 miles from my house," he said of the home his parents and siblings moved into. "I was just like, really? The more we tried to make space, the closer they tried to come. Right now there's no contact between my parents and me and Olivia, and any of my siblings."
While Micah and Moriah are in contact with their parents and younger siblings, there's still a lot of tension. Micah is not allowed to spend time with his younger siblings without supervision as they do not approve of his "lifestyle." Micah is pursuing a career as a model, while Moriah is working as a mechanic and a fitness instructor and has a boyfriend.
The Plath family is trying to heal
"What's your favorite thing about living here and not living with our parents anymore?" Micah asks Moriah in the season 2 preview. "It's that I can do whatever I want, whenever I want," she answers. "I hate rules."
Moriah and Micah can also be seen confronting their ultra-conservative parents for not better preparing them for the outside world in the trailer. When Barry asks if they can forgive them for their "shortcomings," Moriah answers, "It depends on what your version of forgiveness is." Kim, meanwhile, can be seen wishing that the family will come together and overcome their differences. "We're hoping that this year will be a time of healing," she says in the trailer. "I think it'll take a miracle to bring the sides together."
Season 2 of Welcome to Plathville will air on TLC on November 10 at 10 p.m. ET.
