Sure, 2020 gave the world a lot of hard knocks, but all that extra time had plenty of us a little bored in the house. So when folks weren't baking banana bread or learning how to ferment things, they were chopping off their hair. So, if you want the see the most stunning transformations of 2020, read on, because there are a few that will probably blow your mind.

Rebel Wilson got healthy in 2020

One of the most stunning transformations in 2020 came from Rebel Wilson, who truly started to focus on herself; she shed 40 pounds since January of 2020, according to People. While Wilson definitely looked great when she posted photos of her new body after dieting and exercising, she explained that it was about more than just the number on the scale. "You never want it to be about the number, because it really isn't about that," she explained. "It's about: I was doing some unhealthy things to my body and I just wanted to change it and become a healthier person."

Wilson also revealed that she really started to understand the psychology behind her eating habits in 2020. "I think I was emotional eating, and overeating at times, because I wasn't loving myself enough," she said. "And it does come down to that self-worth and self-love."

Truly, Wilson looks incredible in her social media posts, and it's clear that loving herself and getting healthy have paid off, weight loss aside.

Gigi Hadid became a mom in 2020

Because 2020 was such a rollercoaster of a year, it's not really surprising that there was a bit of a baby boom in the midst of everything else. With more people staying home, it was bound to happen, and more than a few celebrities actually got in on the action as well. Gigi Hadid, for instance, became a mom in 2020, and her stunning transformation was quite noteworthy.

Not only did Gigi Hadid open up about her pregnancy in April of 2020, but then, in September of 2020, she revealed that she'd given birth to her and Zayn Malik's first child on Instagram. "Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she's already changed our world. So in love," she wrote in the caption, of a snap of her daughter's tiny hand next to Malik's.

Seeing Hadid become a mother truly proved that the model transformed in more ways than one. Not only did Hadid's body change like never before, but her world was completely upended by the birth of her daughter.

Selena Gomez took charge of her life in 2020

Not all child stars are as fortunate to have a successful adult career as Selena Gomez has had. Still, despite all her accomplishments, Gomez has also faced more than her fair share of challenges, all in the public eye. From her lupus diagnosis to her high-profile breakup with Justin Bieber, Gomez has truly gone through it.

But in 2020, Gomez underwent a stunning transformation, inside and out. For one, in an interview with Allure, she revealed that her lupus diagnosis caused some bodily changes. "I was dealing with a lot of medical problems, so I fluctuated in weight a lot," she said. But, Gomez added that in 2020, she was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which really helped her come into herself more. "Once I did find out more about who I was, I was proud," she continued. "I also felt comfortable knowing that I wasn't alone, and I was going to get through it." She added that she will be both outspoken and passionate about her diagnosis going forward, too.

2020 was truly a transformative year for Gomez, that's for sure.

Kelly Osbourne looked great in 2020

Even though body positivity is so important, a lot of people feel happier, healthier, and just more confident when they lose a little weight. And that was certainly the case for Kelly Osbourne, who revealed a new, trim figure in 2020 that was quite the transformation.

On an episode of the Hollywood Raw podcast, Osbourne shared that she had gastric sleeve surgery back in 2018, which really helped her drop some weight. But, surgery aside, Osbourne explained that it wasn't a magic fix for weight loss. "All it does is change the shape of your stomach," she said on the podcast (via People). "I got that almost two years ago. I will never ever ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done." Good for you, Kelly!

Still, it wasn't until 2020 that Osbourne's weight loss transformation was truly complete. Indeed, Kelly Osbourne is unrecognizable after losing 85 pounds in total.

Though she's not an avid social media user, Adele stunned her fans with her new, slim figure, and people couldn't stop talking about it.

Adele's first Instagram post in 2020 discussed her celebrating her birthday, but it wasn't the caption that got people talking. It had been almost five months since the singer posted on social media, and fans were quick to notice that she'd clearly shed some pounds. According to a fan who met Adele, the singer has lost around 100 pounds (via People).

While Adele hasn't been too talkative about her transformation, during her October appearance on Saturday Night Live, she did joke about her obvious weight loss. "I know I look really, really different since you last saw me, but actually because of all the COVID restrictions and the travel bans, I had to travel light and only bring half of me, and this is the half that I chose," she joked. But all humor aside, Adele's 2020 transformation is jaw-dropping.

However, it shouldn't have been that surprising to witness Efron's transformation. In April of 2020, he explained that being in tip-top shape just wasn't worth it to him anymore. "I don't ever want to be in that good of shape again," Efron told Sean Evans on Hot Ones. "Really. It was so hard."

And it's not as if Efron looked totally out of shape in Down to Earth; rather he just looked healthy, bigger, and honestly better than ever before. Clearly, Efron has found new freedom in not constantly having a six pack, and that's what matters.

When a fan on Twitter asked her why she decided to take the risk, she was honest. "I was growing it out for so long, and I told myself I wouldn't shave it till I saw what it was like healthy and long," she explained. "Then I saw it healthy and long and said 'mm this is nice but I miss bald,' and then so I did it!"

Though a hair transformation isn't everything, Halsey showed that she's just as gorgeous without hair than she is with, and her confidence with her new buzz cut was almost palpable.

"Well, I made major changes like choosing to eat plant based...I'm constantly reminding myself that the greatest form of self love is self discipline," she continued. Bailon has always been stunning, but in 2020, she turned up the heat.

So for Hyland, who played Haley Dunphy on Modern Family for years, that was especially true when it came to her hair. Hyland struggled with endometriosis and kidney dysplasia (via Today), and that lead to some hair loss. "With medications and stuff, it can make your hair fall out," Hyland told Refinery29. So, when she dyed her hair red in 2020, it was a big step, and a beautiful transformation for Hyland.

However it is that Styles chooses to present himself to the world, we are absolutely here for it!

The year 2020 was certainly a rollercoaster of a year for just about everyone. Even for celebrities, who certainly had more privilege and access than most Americans, 2020 proved to be somewhat of a challenge. But for Elliot Page, 2020 was the year he announced his gender identity, and a transformation as incredible as his is worth noting.

In an Instagram post in December 2020, the actor, known for his roles in Juno and The Umbrella Academy, shared some big news: "Hi friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot." It was a huge step for Page, and the Instagram post explained all the complicated intricacies that come with coming out as trans. "My joy is real, but it is also fragile," Page wrote. "The truth is, despite feeling profoundly happy right now and knowing how much privilege I carry, I am also scared. I'm scared of the invasiveness, the hate, the 'jokes' and of violence." Hopefully, Page's stunning transformation and his ongoing activism for the LGBTQ+ community can help serve as a call to end the violence and discrimination of trans people across the United States.

In his post, Page noted, "The more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive."
