The Real Reason 90 Day Fiancé's Deavan Wasn't Happy About Her Wedding
Deavan and Jihoon's relationship on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has been filled with drama from the very beginning; from Deavan getting pregnant at the very beginning of their relationship, to learning that Jihoon had a criminal background, to Deavan navigating the prospect of moving herself and her children to South Korea. Despite all of the challenges, Deavan and Jihoon still decided to go through with the wedding, but as we already know, it didn't last. Deavan has already been spotted allegedly engaged to someone else entirely. Despite the fact that the couple's season of 90 Day is still airing, Deavan has appeared to not care too much about sharing her current relationship with the world (via Instagram), essentially spoiling the news that things didn't work out between her and Jihoon.
While Deavan and Jihoon may no longer be married, their wedding did still happen, however — and Deavan had a lot to say about it.
Deavan didn't experience the wedding of her dreams
While on 90 Day, it was clear that Deavan was navigating a serious amount of culture shock as an American in South Korea. This was one of the biggest struggles that she had and reasons she couldn't quite make up her mind about whether or not to uproot her life and move to South Korea.
The couple's wedding was not exempt from the severe culture shock she experienced. She and Jihoon were first married in a very traditional Korean way, which Deavan did her best to navigate despite a language barrier (via YouTube). Jihoon's parents put together a second wedding for the couple that was in more of an American style, but that one wasn't exactly to Deavan's liking either. "I'm grateful that Jihoon's parents put this wedding together, but it is a factory-style," she explained. "Basically, you only have the wedding venue for 45 minutes. Once you're done, you have to leave and then boom, the next bride comes in. That's not how I would have wanted it" (via TV Insider). She was upset that she wasn't given the chance to plan any of the second wedding and wasn't even sure if she was allowed to kiss Jihoon at the altar (via YouTube).
