The Reason Olivia Plath Went Back To Therapy

Olivia Plath is taking charge of her mental health. The Welcome to Plathville star recently opened up to People about going back to therapy. "I started again last month, just realizing that I was not in a healthy place and I needed to work through things," she said.

Olivia revealed that she and her husband, Ethan, want to have kids one day but that she thinks that they aren't quite ready to take that step. "I also know that in many ways, we're not ready for kids and the fact that we need to heal and process our own childhoods before we bring another child into the world," she explained.

Olivia and Ethan grew up in very conservative families and have struggled to break away from their upbringing. Olivia said she was raised "in a society where women weren't supposed to work, and women were not supposed to have a voice or a job, much like Ethan's family."

Olivia and Ethan Plath have both broken away from their upbringing

Olivia has defied her upbringing by running her own photography business, and her husband has also broken away from his family. The couple revealed on season 2 of Welcome to Plathville that they had cut off contact with Ethan's parents, Kim and Barry. "We needed space as a couple, so we decided that that meant no contact with my parents," said Ethan (via People).

It's been an uphill journey for the young couple but they're working hard to live their own lives. "To be who I am today, not afraid to be myself, running a business, in all honesty, sometimes I do mess up along the way, but I am really proud of myself," Olivia told People.

She added, "I feel like how far I've come and how much I've worked through, and I think people don't really understand that I started in very much the same place that Ethan and his siblings did."
