Details You Didn't Know About Libras' Personalities
If your sun is in Libra, you probably know that this could indicate that you're indecisive or focused on justice. After all, Libra's symbol is the scale. There's more to being a Libra, however, than being upset by inequality and having trouble picking an entrée at a restaurant.
Astrology app Co—Star explains that someone with their sun in Libra "hates being alone," has "really good aesthetics," is "conflict avoidant," "sees every side," and is "prone to fantasy." Some of these, like seeing every side and avoiding conflict, might make sense with what you already knew about this balance-oriented personality type. Other qualities may be less intuitive.
The discomfort of being alone, Co—Star explains, comes from Libras' "fear of being disconnected from the collective... Libras are afraid of the unknown. They're afraid of their own secrets. They are capable of organizing their lives with such complex structure that they rarely face truly unknown situations." The aesthetic sense, meanwhile, may come from Libras' sensitivity to the environment around them.
Libras focus on others' needs
Given Libras' need for harmony, they have both a great capacity to see and hear other people and conversely a dangerous tendency to lose themselves in the process. Kerry Ward, cosmic life coach at Cosmopolitan, explains, "All their empathy, listening, deep-down understanding blah blah can mean their own opinions and desires get lost in the wash, indeed sometimes they may not even really know their own mind." Plus, Libras may occasionally put their desire to satisfy everyone above the needs of their close relationships. Allure's astrologer Aliza Kelly Faragher explains, "People-pleasing Libras must remember that the happiness of their loved ones and the health of their relationships is more important than maintaining the attention of distant admirers."
Libras also may have a tendency to talk out of their butts, as it were, to avoid seeming uncertain. As Co—Star puts it, "The dark abyss of the unknown is a terrifying place for them, which is why they have to pretend that they know everything. They project an air of omniscience. But in truth, they have no idea what they are talking about."
