Here's Who Fans Expect To Cameo In The Weeknd's Super Bowl Performance

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs are no doubt ready to give their best performances to date in order to claim the sought-after Super Bowl title. And while we're excited to see all the sacks and touchdowns, a lot of us are equally (or more, to be honest) excited to sit back with our wings and seven layer dip and watch the famous halftime performance. We know The Weeknd is headlining.

The news was announced back in November of 2020 and he is thrilled, sharing after the news dropped (via TMZ), "I'm humbled, honored, and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year." With The Weeknd having already signed, sealed, and delivered his RSVP to the show, we can't help but wonder: Who is going to be joining him on stage?

Without any official confirmation, fans of Ariana Grande are starting to chatter about the heavy possibility the songstress will make a cameo at the halftime show. But they may have good reason to think so.

The Weeknd has collaborated with both of these artists before

The Weeknd recently announced that, in what we must say was a perfectly timed PR move, his album, The Highlights, will be released right before he is set to take the halftime stage. Fans of Ariana Grande were quick to notice his song "Love Me Harder" is a duet between himself and the starlet and is on his upcoming album.

".@ArianaGrande is now rumored to be joining @theweeknd for the Super Bowl Halftime performance this year for their hit single "Love me Harder", this is a rumor!" shared a Twitter user (via Page Six). While another fan noted, "they have to, she sings the hook there's no way he performs it without the hook."

So if not Grande, then who? A lot of betting happens around the Super Bowl, and the odds for this next performer making a cameo with The Weeknd are high. Drake is making waves in the spectator pool, and for good reason. The two musicians have been making cameos on each other's albums for close to a decade now (via Sports Betting Dime). So it would only be natural for The Weeknds fellow Canadian collaborator to get in on the halftime show spotlight.

Who will it be? Both Grande and Drake are logical choices. But we're guessing we won't have our suspicions confirmed until we're halfway through the seven layer dip.
