Here's Why Margot From To All The Boys: Always And Forever Looks So Familiar

Fans of Netflix's To All The Boys I've Loved Before are amped for the third installment of the trilogy to come out, just in time for Valentine's Day. The movies, based on the YA novels by Jenny Han, have been a major hit and made household names out of the main characters. The gang is back for senior year in To All The Boys I've Loved Before: Always And Forever, and there's even a special appearance from Lara Jean's big sister, Margot Covey.

If Margot looks familiar to you, it's because you've almost certainly seen her before. She's played by actress Janel Parrish, who has been in the business since she was 11 years old (per IMDb). She was on the hit series Heroes as May from 2006-2008. Most recently, Parrish was part of another teen-facing project, Pretty Little Liars. Janel played Mona Vanderwaal from the original series' premiere in 2010 through the end of the spin-off Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists in 2019.

Janel has admitted to missing her 'PLL' role

2020 marked 10 years since the premiere of Pretty Little Liars, which of course brought some reflection from members of the cast. Parrish told Hollywood Life how much playing Mona has meant to her. "Mona was SUCH a fun character to play, and I honestly wouldn't have wanted any other role! The writers constantly kept me on my feet with so many twists and turns," she shared. "I feel like she had so many personalities over the years, and it was an actor's dream to be able to play them all."

Parrish recently revealed that she and the rest of the PLL cast, who keep in touch, are excited to see the twists on the story in the reboot for HBO Max. "We're so excited for this new iteration of the show and honestly, we wish it well," she told ET. "We're very grateful to have been a part of the OG PLL family."
