The star of the show, Soleil Moon Frye, became one of the most popular actresses from that era. Frye eventually grew up (as all child stars are wont to do), and married Jason Goldberg. But a recent statement from a representative for Frye revealed that she and Goldberg have "quietly separated" after two decades of marriage (via USA Today). According to the statement, the couple's "priority will continue to be their four beautiful children as they move forward with love and compassion.

While his name might not be instantly recognizable, Goldberg is a successful movie and television producer whose credits include Guess Who, The Butterfly Effect, Killers, Spread, Brooklyn State of Mind, Adventures in Hollywood, The Real Wedding Crashers, and more (via IMDb). He also created the show Punk'd with Ashton Kutcher, and the two have been long-time producing partners. Soleil Moon Frye and Jason Goldberg married on October 25, 1998, in a traditional Jewish ceremony (via Daily Mail). Ten years later, the couple renewed their vows at their home in the Hollywood Hills. "Besides the days my children were born — and my first wedding — it was the best night of my life, Frye tole People at the time (via People).

The couple have four children: daughters Poet Sienna Rose, age 15, and Jagger Joseph Blue, age 12; and sons Lyric Sonny Roads, age 6, and Story, who's 4 (via Today).

But there is good news for Punky Brewster fans. A reboot of the show is coming to Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service. In the revamp, Soleil Moon Frye will reprise her role of Punky — who is now a divorced mom of three children (via Today). As part of the plotline, Punky meets Izzy, a girl in the foster system who reminds Punky of herself when she was young. Actress Cherie Johnson will reprise her role as Punky's BFF, and Freddie Prinze Jr. will play Punky's ex-husband. The show will be available to stream starting February 25th (via Entertainment Weekly). 

It would seem that things are coming full circle for Soleil Moon Frye on so many levels. But if she's anything like her famous character, she'll be the girl that turns the world around.
