Here's Why Tito From Magic Mike Looks So Familiar

Magic Mike XXL is a cinematic masterpiece, and although the follow-up to Channing Tatum's semi-autobiographical film, Magic Mike, was released in 2015, fans of the franchise will be able to watch the film on Freeform on March 8, 2021. In addition to Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Jada Pinkett Smith, Amber Heard, Kevin Nash, and Adam Rodriguez also star in the sexy comedy-drama (via IMDb).

And while many of the aforementioned names are recognizable in any Hollywood production, viewers may be wondering where exactly they've seen Adam Rodriguez, who plays Tito in both the original Magic Mike film and the sequel. As it turns out, Rodriguez has a plethora of acting credits to his name, and has been in the business since the late '90s.

Over his decades-long career, he's starred in notable television series, guest-starred on many fan-favorite TV shows, and starred in movies spanning across every type of genre in Tinseltown.

His first acting credit was in 1997

Rodriguez got his start on the television series NYPD Blue, where he was credited with the role of "Uniform Cop" in the twelfth episode of Season 4, titled "Upstairs, Downstairs." From there, he starred as Officer Hector Villaneuva in the short-lived TV series, Brooklyn South, in all twenty-two episodes of the series (via IMDb).

Rodriguez's other notable acting credits include Lovesick, Caught in the Crossfire, and About Last Night. He's also had recurring roles on Felicity, All Souls, Resurrection Blvd., the original Roswell series, Ugly Betty, Reckless, The Night Shift, Empire, and Jane the Virgin. However, fans of scripted true crime shows will recognize him as Eric Delko from CSI: Miami. He appeared in a whopping 222 episodes of the long-running series from 2002 – 2012. From 2016 – 2020, the seasoned 45-year-old actor played the part of Luke Alvez in the fan-favorite CBS crime drama, Criminal Minds.

Rodriguez's most recent project, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, in which he plays the character of Raul Vega, might be his favorite project to date. "This is the most incredible production I've ever worked on," he said (via CBS). "There are some important themes that people really need to pay attention to right now more than ever. I'm really excited for people to get a chance to see this show and hopefully fall in love with it."
