Who Is Meghan Trainor's Husband, Former Child Star Daryl Sabara?
Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara have proven to be one of the cutest couples in Hollywood. While everyone is familiar with the "All About That Bass" singer's music and her work as a judge on The Voice UK, people may be less familiar with Sabara, who has a pretty impressive career himself.
The actor began working as a child, appearing in the television series Murphy Brown as an infant (per IMDb). He continued to land TV spots as he grew up, appearing on Roswell and Will & Grace before landing the defining role of his child acting career.
The California native was just 8 years old when he landed the role of Juni Rocket Racer Rebel Cortez in Spy Kids, one half of a pair of siblings who discover their parents are secret agents and decide to get in on the family business (per Syfy).
The movie was such a hit with families around the globe that Sabara and co-star Alexa PenaVega would go on to star in two sequels, Spy Kids 2: Island Of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. The duo also made cameos in Spy Kids 4D: All The Time in the World.
Daryl has multiple talents up his sleeve
Daryl Sabara made the most of his Spy Kids fame. He continued to book roles in television and film, even expanding to voice acting. He appeared in the animated film Polar Express as Hero Boy and later, in Generation Rex, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Ben-10 (per IMDb).
Sabara also sweetly appeared in a few of his wife Meghan Trainor's music videos. The actor camoed in her videos for "Foolish" and "Marry Me."
On a more personal level, the couple began dating in 2016, two years after they met (per Elite Daily). The two got engaged in December 2017, right before Trainor's 24th birthday.
The "Dear Future Husband" singer announced the happy moment on Instagram, writing, "For my 24th birthday, the love of my life @darylsabara made all of my dreams come true. He proposed to me under a tunnel of beautiful Christmas lights and surprised me with my family and friends. I'm still in shock. I've never been this happy! Thank you Daryl, my family and friends for making me feel like a real princess."
Daryl and Meghan are new parents
During an October 2020 interview with Today, Meghan Trainor revealed that she and Daryl Sabara were expecting their first child after two years of marriage. Pregnancy had its ups and downs for Trainor, however, she has expressed being "grateful" it was happening during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic when she could be home with her husband more.
On Valentine's Day 2021, the proud dad took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their son, Riley Sabara.
"Riley 7lbs 8oz 2/8/21," he wrote alongside the first public photos of the infant. "Ps- @meghan_trainor you are my forever Valentine and I'm so beyond grateful for you bringing our son into the world."
Many fellow celebs shared well wishes and positive words on Trainor's first Instagram post of the baby boy. Millie Bobby Brown wrote, "Oh my God. Happy valentines day riley. Love you Meghan, and Daryl. Congratulations. Your going to be amazing parents and teach baby riley al about spy kids and MUSIC!!!"
The new mom replied, "I can't wait to dress him up as spy kids for Halloween someday we love u and miss u!!!!!"
