What The Cast Of Clueless Looks Like Today
As if! The cult classic film "Clueless," which introduced us to stars like Alicia Silverstone, the late Brittany Murphy and ageless vampire Paul Rudd, recently celebrated its 25 anniversary. However, as true fans know, this 1995 flick transcends time. Before singer Olivia Rodrigo blessed us with pop hit "Drivers License," we were gifted a way harsh insult about virgins who didn't have them.
Clueless gave American teens all over the country a taste of what its like to grow up in Los Angeles, California, plus a whole new slew of vocabulary with which to communicate our angst.
The actors who transported their posh, Cali world to isolated Midwestern teens everywhere deserve all the accolades. Unfortunately, Hollywood doesn't work like that and while some of these stars have risen to fame with recurring roles and guest spots, others have sank into obscurity. Regardless of their career highs and lows, "Clueless" the film remains timeless, even if the cell phone sizes didn't.
Alicia Silverstone was turned off by Hollywood
Alicia Silverstone didn't have a lot of luck in Hollywood after creating the essence of Malibu princess Cher Horowitz. In a 2020 interview with The Guardian she explained that the huge lifestyle change was too much to take in at the time. "It was really just extreme how I was being talked to and talked about," she explained. "I think I just got really turned off by it."
After Silverstone won a Razzie Award for "Batman & Robin," she "stopped loving acting for a very long time." This could be due to the fact that Silverstone was relentlessly body shamed after her portrayal of Batgirl in the Joel Schumacher film, with tabloids dubbing her the cruel nickname "Fatgirl." StyleBlazer even called the film a curse that ruined more than just one career.
But even though Silverstone is older, wiser and more accustomed to the constantly dimming limelight of Hollywood, she's not immune to making mistakes (such as short-lived series "American Woman" from "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards.) Luckily, Silverstone has also been able to take on more substantial roles, like 2016's "King Cobra," 2017's "The Killing of a Sacred Deer" and 2020's "Bad Therapy," (via IMDb.)
In addition to her film work, Silverstone has also become known for her philanthropy, like when she posed naked for a 2016 PETA campaign. I'd like to imagine Cher would've done the same. As long as she didn't have to ruin her Alaïa.
Stacey Dash no longer supports Donald Trump
After breathing life into Dionne, Stacey Dash became a household name for more than being Cher's BFF. Unless you've been living under a rock, you've heard about Dash's reemergence on social media during the 2020 presidential election after working as a Fox News contributor from 2014 to 2016. However, since her candidate lost, Dash has denounced support for former President Donald Trump. In a 2021 interview with Daily Mail TV Dash admitted, "I've lived my life being angry, which is what I was on Fox News. I was the angry, conservative, Black woman."
But while her character Dionne asked her boyfriend to stop calling her "woman," Dash wants to make it clear that she's "not a feminist." She went on to explain, "Right now I feel like women need to support men, lift them up, love them and respect them. On the other hand, it's a two-way street."
As far as acting roles, after starring in TV series "The Game" from 2009 to 2011, Dash went on to appear in a number of sub-par films, such as 2016's "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" and 2020's "Finding Love in Quarantine," (via IMDb.) Perhaps Dash will find more success with her book titled, "There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative," which recounts the story of when she had a gun drawn on her.
Donald Faison found success with Scrubs
Donald Faison taught us all the meaning of a total Barney as Dionne's on-again, off-again beau Murray. After "Clueless," Faison rose to fame in the Emmy Award-winning TV series "Scrubs," where he donned the title garment to play Dr. Christopher Turk. Faison continued to find success in television over the years, scoring parts in series such as "The Exes," "Ray Donovan" and animated series, "Robot Chicken," (via IMDb.)
But while Faison's professional life has been smooth sailing, his personal life took a more rocky road. Faison divorced his first wife, Lisa Askey, in 2005 and has been married to second wife, Cacee Cobb since 2012, (via Life & Style Magazine.) Tragically, Askey passed away in 2017, but she is survived by the three children she had with Faison during their marriage.
On a happier note, Faison did have two more children with Cobb, the best friend and former assistant of Jessica Simpson. Faison has his children all over Instagram and if you don't find his them adorable, you're totally buggin'.
Breckin Meyer is a voice actor
Breckin Meyer played Travis, the stoner with a heart who won over Brittany Murphy's character, Tai, with his rad skateboard moves. Meyer took the early aughts by storm, starring in films such as 2000's "Road Trip," 2001's "Rat Race" and 2006's "Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties," (via IMDb.)
However, after becoming a leading man, Meyer took a break from starring in Hollywood flicks in order to take his acting behind the scenes.
Meyer is lending his voice to a number of animated series, including "Robot Chicken," "Phineas and Ferb," and "Family Guy." But he's not strictly committed to TV and film. Meyer also dabbles in video games as the voice of Dr. Jefferson Boyle in EA's "Titanfall 2." As far as his personal life goes, Meyer split with his wife, Deborah Kaplan, in 2012 and met his current girlfriend, soap opera star Lindsay Godfrey, through an online dating app. Not as romantic as sweeping her up at the skatepark, but we'll take it!
Jeremy Sisto reunited with Alicia Silverstone
Jeremy Sisto served as a warning to a generation of teen girls with his portrayal of "snob and a half" Elton. After unsuccessfully trying to put the moves on Cher, Elton leaves her stranded in an abandoned parking lot, where she falls victim to a mugging. Luckily, Sisto is just a really good actor. In fact, Silverstone loved working with Sisto so much that they teamed up again in 2012 for the television series "Suburgatory."
Before playing the suburbanite dad, George Altman, Sisto became a household name thanks to recurring roles in "Six Feet Under" and "Law & Order." Since then, Sisto has graced both television and movie screens alike with roles in 2015's "The Returned," 2019's "Frozen II" and 2021's "Last Night in Rozzie," (via IMDb.)
After a secret Vegas marriage and subsequent divorce, Sisto remains rolling with the homies – the homies being his current wife, Addie Lane, and their two children.
