What We Know About Aubrey Plaza's Marriage

Aubrey Plaza has been romantically linked to screenwriter Jeff Baena for a decade. The pair reportedly began dating while Plaza was working on the hit sitcom "Parks and Recreation" (via The Things). However, they have managed to keep their relationship mostly out of the spotlight. They've achieved this privacy through mostly dodging questions from the press about their relationship and limiting what they show of their personal lives on social media. Plaza mainly shares updates on projects she is working on to her Instagram account, while Baena simply keeps his account private.

In a rare interview with Cosmopolitan, Plaza revealed that the couple enjoys spending their free time at home with a group of close friends. "When we're together we like hanging out at home. We're happy having people over and playing 'Settlers of Catan' or 'Battlestar Galactica.' We're kind of dorks," (via The Things). The couple also loves spending time with their two adopted dogs, Frankie and Steve, that they rescued in Los Angeles. In keeping with their preference for avoiding any big announcements about their relationship, Plaza subtly revealed a status update on the couple through her Instagram.

The newlyweds are frequent collaborators

On May 7, 2021, Aubrey Plaza – who's name has a surprising meaning — revealed she married her longtime partner Jeff Baena in the caption of an Instagram post. She shared a photo series that contained an image of her and Baena standing on set together and looking at each other lovingly. The following images contained screenshots from a Deadline article that revealed the newlyweds are working together on a film. Plaza captioned her post, "So proud of my darling husband @jeffbaena for dreaming up another film that takes us to italia to cause some more trouble."

The film, "Spin Me Round," is based on a screenplay Baena co-wrote with actress Alison Brie. Plaza will star in the film, making it the fourth collaboration between the pair (via IMDb). They previously worked on the Showtime anthology series "Cinema Toast" together, which was created by Baena and served as Plaza's directorial debut.

In an interview with People, Plaza explained what their working relationship is like. She revealed that being with someone who works in the same professional field as her has allowed for a deeper connection, as she and Baena have been able to "support each other" throughout their careers.

"But, you know, working with your partner can always be challenging," she countered. "There's a lot of things we do separately and I think that it's all about balance." Congratulations to the married couple!
