Fresh off the news he was divorcing wife Anna Marie Tendler after six years of marriage, beleaguered comedian John Mulaney has allegedly hooked up with one of Hollywood's most eligible ladies. The comedian, who just completed a two month long rehab stint for alcohol and cocaine addiction, made his welcome return to the stand-up stage in the middle of May 2021, to enormously positive reviews. Then, a source revealed to that People he found unlikely love with actress Olivia Munn. The new couple reportedly met at a church service, with the insider advising simply, "This is very new, they're taking it slowly."

Mulaney and Munn have been friends for years, with the actress wishing the former "Saturday Night Live" writer the best after he initially relapsed. When Mulaney's divorce was made public, his soon-to-be ex-wife made it clear the decision was his, admitting in a statement to People, "I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage." Munn's most recent relationship was with NFL star Aaron Rodgers, whom she was involved with from 2014 to 2017 (he's now engaged to Shailene Woodley). It seems, however, the "Newsroom" star had her eye on Mulaney a while back.

According to Page Six, rumored new couple Olivia Munn and John Mulaney both attended comedian Seth Meyers' 2013 wedding, with their respective partners at the time, after which the actress confessed to being really interested in the comedian. "I was like 'Oh my gosh, do you and your fiancé want to go have dinner or something and go hang out?'" she told HuffPost in 2015. Munn admitted, "At first it was cool, and then I kept going up to him at the wedding like 'So, you having fun?' I was just so obsessed with hanging out with and talking with him." 

The actress subsequently reached out to him, but Mulaney never responded. "I might've got the wrong email — probably. That's what I tell myself," she quipped. Mulaney and Anna Marie Tendler tied the knot in 2014. The comedian reportedly asked for a divorce in February 2021. He entered rehab in late 2020 and returned to New York in February, following his release. As People noted, Mulaney's new comedic material focused mainly on his struggles with substance abuse and time in treatment.
