The Truth About Lori Loughlin's Dating History

Lori Loughlin, of course best known for playing Aunt Becky on "Full House" and "Fuller House," has been married to Mossimo Giannulli since 1997 (via Us Weekly). The couple eloped a few days before Thanksgiving, with the actress saying about her marriage to the fashion designer, "We had talked about doing a wedding and we just thought, 'Let's get up and let's go do it'" (via Town & Country).

But before she tied the knot with the man she has spent the better part of her life with, and with whom she subsequently welcomed two daughters, a little known fact is that Loughlin was married to someone else (via Parade).

So who was the man who the star said "I do" to first? According to TVoverMind, it was investment banker Michael Burns. The couple wed in 1989, at the height of her "Full House" fame (via IMDb). But their union wouldn't last, with Loughlin and Burns divorcing by 1996.

Lori Loughlin's first marriage didn't end badly

As Loughlin told Closer Weekly in 2018 about Burns, "He was a great human being, but I just felt he wasn't the one for me. I was probably too young and didn't know enough about what I needed, but I couldn't say one bad thing about him. He was a really nice person."

Meanwhile, TVoverMind states Loughlin and Giannulli actually met in 1995, with The Hollywood Reporter claiming the pair crossed paths at a restaurant in Los Angeles. They waited until Loughlin divorced her first husband to officially start a relationship.

Rewinding a bit further, it's worth noting the "Full House" star dated a few other men prior to getting together with Burns, including Christopher Atkins and Mark Arnold (via Whosdatedwho). Both men were also actors, according to College Candy. The outlet reports Loughlin attended the 1981 Golden Globes with Atkins, but they split in 1982.

Another person the former Hallmark movie star went out with pre-marriage was her co-star, John Stamos, who as fans know, played her love interest on TV (via USA Today).

John Stamos wanted to be with Lori Loughlin

According to Cheat Sheet, Stamos and Loughlin dated as teens. They would have been in their early 20s when they did "Full House," so how did they meet? According to The Things, the actors worked together on soap operas before playing Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky.

Stamos said about their eventual romantic relationship, "[We] went on a date to Disneyland before, you know, before we were both married. In real life, when we were 18, 19 years old."

According to The Things, it never worked out between the actors, because when one was single, the other was in a relationship. According to Cheat Sheet, Stamos ultimately said about his feelings for his co-star, "We did have some off timing, but no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away."

The good news is that Stamos eventually met the one for him, marrying actress Caitlin McHugh in 2018. They share a son, Billy, who was born the same year (via Good Housekeeping).
