How To Know If Your Sign Is Compatible With Your Partner's

Before you investigate whether or not your Aries crush can fulfill all of your desires, it's important to understand that astrological compatibility cannot be discovered by just simply comparing sun signs. In fact, to figure out how compatible you will be with your partner throughout every stage of your life, you'll first need to have a complete birth chart completed for yourself and your partner. From there, you will also be able to compare your moon signs, ascendant signs, lunar nodes, planets, houses, and more to determine what sort of connection you share with that special someone, per Vogue. On the most basic level, you can find out a bit about the compatibility you share with your partner by comparing your elements. Each zodiac sign is sorted under one of our four elements — fire, water, air, and earth. Typically, elements operate the best when paired with one another, with two exceptions. According to Elite Daily, fire and air, and water and earth, also work well when paired together.

Comparing moon signs, or the position of the moon at the exact time you were born, can be useful as well. "You will want to make sure that their moon signs are compatible because the moon is your instinctive nature and how you get your needs met — what you are comfortable with emotionally," astrologer Diana Brownstone told Vogue. "If you are looking for a long-term relationship, the moon signs of you and your partner should be compatible." This compatibility can be discovered by using a simple tool on any astrology website.

Romantic compatibility can be found by examining all parts of the birth chart

Aside from comparing moon and sun signs, you can also compare your rising sign, or ascendant, to figure out if you're a great match for your partner. The rising sign, which will be the Zodiacal sign that was ascending on the eastern horizon at the time you were born, represents the mask that you wear when you express yourself in brand new situations, per Vogue. As astrologer Diana Brownstone told Vogue, couples who have rising signs that are typically considered to be opposites (like Capricorns and Aries) will actually be more compatible. Opposites do attract, in this case.

Brownstone also suggested examining your lunar nodes to see where they intersect with your partner's own lunar nodes. These mathematical and astronomical points are determined by the exact position of the sun and moon at the time you were born. These nodes function on an axis that determines the knowledge you've gained from your past and where you are going in your future to achieve your dreams, per Vogue. If your lunar nodes overlap with those of your partner, it's likely that your meeting and/or relationship was fated in the stars.

After comparing sun signs, moon signs, rising signs, and lunar nodes, be sure to look into the compatibility you share with your partner based upon your planets and houses, which should be laid out in detail in your birth chart. The compatibility of each separate component in your birth chart can be found through numerous websites and applications.
