What Does Kelly Clarkson Really Think Of Ariana Grande?

"The Voice" fans were delighted to learn that pop sensation Ariana Grande would join the series for Season 21 (via Today). Grande revealed in March 2021 that she would replace Nick Jonas as one of the four coaches on the singing competition series. While teasing a promo for the upcoming season, she expressed her excitement about her new position on Instagram. She wrote, " I adore these humans so much and am already an emotional wreck worrying about saying goodbye to everyone the day of the finale and nothings even happened or aired yet."

Grande will work alongside series veterans Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend. During an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Legend revealed he's a bit scared of his new competitor. He said, "Ariana has a huge fanbase and they are fervent, and if they show up to vote, then we're all in trouble." However, Shelton shared that he's up for the challenge. He quipped, "Ariana fans, bring it on! I'm not afraid of Ariana. They pay me to win." While appearing on "The Tonight Show," Clarkson finally revealed how she feels about her new co-worker (via People).

Kelly Clarkson is excited to work with Ariana Grande

Kelly Clarkson told the "The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon that things are going very well on the set of Season 21 of "The Voice" (via People). She shared that she loves her new co-star, Ariana Grande, adding, "We had actually run into each other a couple of times before, but not really like, been able to talk and she so's funny. Like, very witty." Clarkson also noted that Grande is very funny and brings a new perspective to the singing competition. The singer explained, "We've never had a coach like her. I've only been there for eight seasons, but in all my seasons, I've never heard a coach talk about vocal health as much."

Clarkson also revealed that the cast has finished taping everything but the live episodes of the series. She said that the crowd gets extremely excited when Grande makes her individual introduction. Clarkson shared, "It is literally like BTS has entered the building. They lose their minds." Fortunately for Grande's fans at home, the series is set to premiere on September 20, 2021 on NBC, where they will be able to watch the "Thank U, Next" singer in action.
