Why Fans Are Speculating That Mike Is The Bad Guy In Virgin River

"Virgin River," a Netflix show that is based on novels by Robyn Carr, focuses on Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) moving to a new town and falling in love with Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), a former Marine who owns a bar in Virgin River.

The second season, which premiered on November 27, 2020, ended with Jack being shot, and a top suspect was one of Jack's old Marine Corps buddies, Dan Brady (Ben Hollingsworth). When fans got to the end of Season 3, which dropped on the streaming platform on July 9, 2021, they saw Brady being arrested for shooting Jack.

There have been a lot of ups and downs with this character, so it is hard to know what to believe. Brady was working at Jack's, but then he got involved with Calvin (David Cubit), a drug kingpin. He seems to have changed his ways, though, as he started up a romantic relationship with Jack's sister Brie (Zibby Allen).

Several Virgin River moments have hinted that there is something suspicious about Mike

As the story on "Virgin River" progressed, some started to have suspicions about another one of Jack's pals from the Marines, Detective Mike Valenzuela (Marco Grazzini). He randomly showed up in town, and he does not get along well with Brady.

This fractured relationship got worse when it was hinted that Mike also seems to have a crush on Brie and even told her that she was "wasting [her] time" with Brady and "could do a whole lot better" (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet). Then, Mike found the gun that shot Jack in Brady's car, leading to the arrest. Furthermore, Brady seems to know something about Mike that the audience does not.

Now, before Jack was shot, he was on the phone with Mike, who was at the police station. So, there is still a mystery surrounding who pulled the trigger and who was involved at all. But showrunner Sue Tenney said the secret will be revealed by the end of Season 4 and that "the audience will be genuinely surprised at who's behind all of it" (via TVInsider).
